LaRocca’s Tow Truck Stolen in Temperance
« on: June 11, 2014, 06:36:13 PM »

I'm thinking this is a 'roll back' or more commonly referred to as a 'flat bed' truck...

So, two young guys just walking down the street know where to find the key and also know enough to scrape the business name decals off the truck before they even get into it...

something stinks there :-\ :-\ :-\

All he has are rollbacks (I think) for light work.  Sounds like an ex employee to me.  They always seem to have a sign out front for drivers.  Tells me they are either low pay, or long hours or both.

Good drivers are a rare commodity today.  Treat what you have with care and compensation.

I was thinking inside job as well...

may want to invest in keyless entry...  all Fords can be equipped with - and you can "change" the code each time you get a new employee.

I wonder where you take a wrecker to 'fence' it?

Probably someone was watching those Repo shows and wanted to audition...   It could be down in that area...

I kind of figure it's either a disgruntled employee and they'll find it in 2 years at the bottom of a quarry somewhere or that it's like you say...

had the buyer all lined up and all they needed was a particular truck :( :( :(

Pulled up next to the Twin...   a red one today.
Doesn't look like something that's easy to hide.

I'd think they could pull the 'flat bed' unit off the back and sell that pretty easy without much chance of being able to trace it...   the truck body would still have a VIN and be harder to trace but there sure seems to be an overseas market for high end vehicles so maybe the same applies to this kind of truck to.

People from asia come over to local junk yards and buy up all kinds of vehicles.  Mostly foreign ones.  Completely tear them apart and pack in containers.  Don't be surprised if a number of stolen ones don't go that route.

It's tough to track down parts and very few have any identifiable marks or VIN #s on them.  That's why 'chop shops' sprung up locally even before it became a foreign 'enterprise'!

Never knew that.  I guess I better take the keys out of my Ferrari when I park it in front of the garage at night.... :P

My guess would be that it is the Randy Richardville and his staff and are willing to fork it over in exchange for abolishing term limits.
