We went out to find a place for a late dinner last night...

drove by all 6 of these and none were open...

I may go on a hunger strike until one of them actually opens...

I hope I don't waste away to nothing while I wait ;) ;) ;)

I would guess Angelo's son has some fairly good backing.  I assume the building is still owned by Bob Evans' and I doubt they'd lease and allow all the changes without someone being pretty financially solid.
The building was sold to Angelo. There may be a clause in the sale about no serving of breakfast nor opening of another chain restaurant!

Probably better off with a different "diet"...

I was thinking about writing a book called

Opening Soon - and what that really means in Monroe...  ;D

Chapters to include:
Red Tape
Financing blunders
Kicking the Can
That looks easy...
Grants and tax abatement's

I can see where the guy on Telegraph that's building the drone landing pad (I finally figured out what his 'hook' for his new place is going to be) might have fallen into some of that but I thought the others all had some background and experience in the business.  It always amazes me how easy a good business person can make a difficult business look ;) ;) ;)

Angelo has solid financial backing (don't ask me how I know because I won't tell.)

I have seen some progress on the rooftop drone landing pad at the place across from the SOS!

Almost looks like a support for some electronic billboard -
Wonder why none of them have popped up in Monroe yet?

They'd probably be a zoning violation.  Seems like I've heard that businesses have to get a special permit just to have an electronic sign.

Yup ... It's A Zoning Issue. The restaurant that occupied Marwin's place had an electronic sign & was forced to remove it.

They must have wanted to appease the inspectors - there is one kiddie corner that is allowed, and I'm sure in the future a legal challenge will overturn the "zoning" issue - as technology has advanced...

Public House opened this past weekend.  We had lunch there on Sunday.  The food and service was good, but I thought the menu, especially for dinners, was a bit limited.  Hopefully it gets expanded.  That being said, I would go back.

They were allowed a changeable electronic message board, however they did not follow the rules for the sign.
