And boiling it only concentrates the toxin!!!  This is from the algae in Lake Erie so I wonder how long before it reaches the Monroe and Frenchtown water intakes?

OOPS!!  I needed a call this morning BRD!  Hopefully my big glass of water when I first woke up was water still in my own pipes!!  I am glad I set up the coffee pot yesterday.  Of course, who knows when this actually started?

Exactly!!!

Oldest daughter says she saw on Facebook that the Foodtown stores in Bedford are both already out of water.  Just saw a picture on twitter of the Monroe Meijer store shelf...  EMPTY!!!

I texted my wife to see if she's had a run on water this morning but she hasn't replied yet....   she may be too busy selling water!!!!

Our oldest daughter is down in Cincinnati for the weekend.  She's contemplating loading up her SUV with water before she comes home.  She has Monroe water but she's not too sure she even wants to drink that.

Our son heard this when he got up a 5 so he went and bought 6 gallons for home before he went to work.  Looks like he should have bought more.

I still have a well so I may start selling water this afternoon 8* 8* 8*

Wow....

CL had K100 on, on the radio and they announced it.  Sounds like ir will be a long term advisory with some major implications (from the government) in as much as the government asked local farmers to voluntarily start practicing better N management.  I can see this becoming not voluntary but an enforceable rule now (if algae is indeed to blame because the algae bloom is firectly attributable to fertilizer runoff into streams and then into the lake....

We are gonna go from 'please practice progressive fertilizer management' to 'mandatory management, with enforceable consequences'.....

It's a big issue, improper or too much application of N on row crops and to a lesser extent, proper manure management at CAFO's.

Even the defunct Verba-Hoff daries in Hudson, Michigan (now Milk Source) impacts Lake Erie water with their manure application on fields because all the run off eventually finds it's way to the lake......

Something to ponder.

It's the pay now or pay later scenario.

Does anyone know where the Toledo water intake pipe is located?  I'm sure it will be in one of the news reports sooner or later but I'd like to map it out!

I'm sure you can flush the crapper with it.

Something else to ponder, not only farmers are to blame but lawn care people dumping nitrates and nitrogen heavy compounds on lawns to make them 'pretty'.  My idea of a lawn is mowed weeds.  They are green too.

Going to be some serious regulations arise real quick.  I don't see this 'advisory' being lifted anytime soon.....

You can't filter out a toxin so unless they can figure out how to neutralize it then it's here until they either move their water intake closer to shore or?

I'm headed to Indiana on Monday, bringing back an empty unit.  Should I load it up with bottled water or not?

Bootlegged bottled water, a new source of income......lol

Oldest daughter is in Cincinnati for the weekend so she's watching to see what happens down there today!
