I was surprised they filled the jury as quickly as they did.  With all the publicity I would have thought a couple of days minimally.  I know they said they were starting with a larger jury pool than usual.

The trial is moving quickly.  Clay is expected to testify.  (Surprises me that he would).  the family is holding up extremely well, despite the graphic pictures and evidence that has been shown.

If anyone is interested, Toledo Blade reported is doing excellent tweets:

What we need in this country is punishment that fits the crime, not a trial at the taxpayers expense.  If we had a policy of punishment equals the crime committed in this country, violent crime, murder wold drop to basically zero.

He needs 'violent sex with a baseball bat ending with death.  Real simple.  Lots cheaper, closure for the family.  If they want a volunteer for the ball bat handler, I volunteer.  I could do a 'line drive' on that scumbag's head in a minute.  Actually, a good solid swing in the crotch first (for effect) followed by a line drive to the head.

Sounds like the jury could begin deliberating in the next couple of days...

wonder how long they'll be at it?

Don't think it will be Murder 1 because it wasn't pre meditated.  Probably murder 2 which is life without parole so, we (taxpayers) get to house the scumbag for the next 60 years at $35K a year.  Comforting thought.

I keep wondering about Nevah Buchannan's unsolved murder.  The 'perfect crime'.

Clay also has another trial for the June 2016 home invasion and sexual assault case.  he could get life for that, too.  http://www.monroenews.com/news/20161104/clay-ordered-to-trial-in-rape-case

I find it very unusual that, as far as has been reported so far, he has had no family members in court other than the first day of trial. I don't know who was there, but it was reported that someone from family attended that day.

If I was related to him, I'd be ashamed to show my face in public.  What a scumbag.  Been following it in the Blade, not the MN.

The jury have started their deliberations.   I think that they will be back today with a decision.

Wonder if there will be an appeal?  More tax dollars spent...

After @ 3 hrs of deliberations, Clay was found guilty of felony murder (not Murder 1, but holds the same punishments depending on the degree)

A special category exists for murders committed in the perpetration of other crimes. If you commit murder in the perpetration or attempted perpetration any of the following you will face the same penalty as first-degree murder:

I saw a quick clip on TV where he tried to put the blame on the victim for wanting rough sex.  I doubt the jury bought that.

I'd be more than happy to 'right his wrongs' with a Louisville Slugger.  One between his legs first and one in the back of the head.

I'm surprised it took 3 hours, I was in Mav's court on time..

M1 don't play.  Not premed.  Do I think his intent was to murder?  Not sure.  I think one thing led to another and he killed her.  The damming part is the way he hid the body and then denied it before the DNA was brought to bear.  I read the autopsy.  It was gruesome.  He's a henious scumbag.

So maybe a 'vacation' in the joint isn't all bad.  Inmates don't like people that do those crimes.  he may wish he was dead.

The charge was actually a version of murder 1 so he gets an automatic life sentence and an appeal. He has been in a single cell since his arrest and now will go into general population. He will definitely get his *** kicked. They probably didn't want him to show up in court with his arm in a sling and his face bruised but now who the hell cares.

While it sounds like I'm playing God, I'm not trying to but, my opinion is life is too god for him, even being a biatch for some inmate...  Was a very henious crime and now we are on the hook for his prison welfare for the next 60 years, unless he gets terminated in the joint, which he might.

Said he was 'scared' of being in jail...  Just wait baby, you ain't seen nuth'in yet...

Not a peep out of his family.
