Business Openings
« on: October 27, 2014, 09:23:45 PM »

We have a thread for business closings...  here's one for the opposite.

After all isn't the economy rebounding  ;D

I hear someone bought the United Furniture Building on Telegraph - will be interesting to see what goes in that location.

I looked on the Register of Deeds website and that doesn't show any sale 'yet'...  depending on their intended use they may have to get approval from the city first...   I'm guessing it won't be a marijuana dispensary though ;D ;D ;D

As far as having a thread for business openings...   we have the one for the 'six new restaurants' and that seems to have been the kiss of death for them :o :o :o

I'm not sure exactly how the city code on occupancy is written but Jack has been closed so long now that even 'another' furniture store may have to get approval.  I would think that would be an excellent use and I'm sure as the economy recovers we'll see the void in the market that United's closing has left.  I'll try to remember to watch the RofD for a recording.

I could see a Gardner White.

I think the closest one is at Telegraph and 94. I'm not aware of one in Toledo.

A new Diner opened in Bedford called Mules Diner.  Pretty much on the corner of Sterns and Jackman in the complex where you'll find Worleys survival food and stuff.

Soon as the puritans in office get removed...

I can envision a revitalization plan -
for downtown that may include several types of vices  ;)

I thought you would have learned by now that not all of them are puritans, some have slept with young adults and participated in adulterous affairs of the groin.  After all, time does not make it go away and we know those people never, ever repent and change.

Biggby Coffee is coming back to Monroe, in part of the old Blockbuster location on Telegraph.   There's been construction in there for a couple weeks and they put up the sign on Monday.

There was a nice article with photo on the business page in the paper Wednesday.

I hope she does well.  We became friends when she worked at American Table.
