Spring Break -

and I hear that the road by my house is being done the old fashion way -  vs the slap on tar and stone...

I hope they remember to put stone on the shoulders this time!

That costs extra for the shoulders.
My street is about to disintegrate.  One of those with no curbing and installed 20+ years ago.  If they would have done the tar and stone routine when it started to crack it would have prolonged the life but the Moron Cty Commish didn't believe in that at the time.  The bus driver about to refuse to drive down the street because it's so bad toward the circle.. More affluent places call it a Cul de Sac..

I'm sure if we give the County more money they will send out Bronco to fix you all up.

I'm thinking about one of our members -   who suffered a horrific tragedy,  and is finally learning the US Justice system captured the person.

It's been heartbreaking to read - but with the capture hopefully some form of closure will start to heal their lives.

I'm sure many know about this and we've treaded lightly here out of respect - but I wanted to share this as positive note.

Not up to speed on that one but good to hear justice prevailed even though it moves so slowly

I was not aware of the development either. Hard to imagine that relief would be used to describe this latest turn. I am glad that the not knowing chapter is behind them. More heartbreak to go though !!

Heartbreak was reading the details -

The grief process is ongoing -  and the relief I described was more to the fact the person was no longer free to roam society.   TB news had an article on this story - with the blessing of the family.

Today is like winter.....

You just stay inside and try to be comfortable.

I'm inside and comfortable,  But I start to get uncomfortable thinking about my 30 year old AC unit.  It normally only runs  3-4 hrs a day to keep house comfy.  The last couple of days it's more like 10-12 hrs

Better be saving up for a new one Blue.  They all crap out eventually.  We don't have ac except in the bedroom and I have the shop air conditioned, not to keep it cool so much but to keep the humidity down so my machine tools and stuff don't rust.

Quincy lives in the bedroom.  He came out, ate his dinner, checked the cat bowls for any leftover cat food, took a long whizz, a big poop and went right back to the bedroom.  He's a smart dog.  Valued member of the family.  He's CL's dog, he's only mine when we go for a walk.  Other than that, I'm chopped liver which is fine with me.  If anyone ever made a threatening move toward CL, I suspect he'd get real aggressive.  he is a chow / lab mix and looks the chow part.  115 pounds of solid black dog with pretty white teeth that he'll show you if you want to see them.

He loves the UPS and Fed-Ex guys because they give him biscuits.  Postman, not.  No biscuit...lol

Our vet made a comment one time about never having to worry about a burglar with him around though I think he's a big woosey, he sure don't look like a woosey.  Looks like a Junkyard dog.

Sounds like if you want to keep that puppy running you better find yourself some R22 now!

What a disappointing weekend.

A continual line of thunderstorms and rain - all going just north of me.

Stupid Art Fair!

On the other hand - kind of funny.  I credit God for having a sense of humor.

Sounds like if you want to keep that puppy running you better find yourself some R22 now!

Usually, it's not the refrigerant, it's the aluminum condenser that rots out and the refrigerant escapes.  Then you get to replace the unit because no manufacturer makes replacement condensers.

I like a window unit.  When the condenser rots out (and they all do eventually), you landfill the old one and buy a new one.

That old is probably R11 anyway.= so you'd have to get a new unit as the new refrigerant isn't compatible with the seals in your old unit.

No issue that a quick 6 or 7 grand won't fix.  In my view, that is a lot of window units.
