I would guess it was one of two scenarios that happened...

In the spring when the hens have little ones they get very defensive so she may have been just 'defending' her nearby nest.

Then later in the summer the turkeys all molt.  Some apparently lose too many feathers at one time to be able to fly so they're stuck on the ground until they grow more feathers.

Although their normal defense is just to fly away you and Buster happened to have met up with a more aggressive bird.

Just think from Buster's perspective what that all must have sounded and looked like :o :o :o

Well Buster loved the first half, not so much the second. I don't know the reason why the Turkey stood up on the second go round, maybe it was just pissed off. In any event, I would say it was a draw. However, I did notice that Buster (the Great Hunter) stayed by my side until we cleared the pasture for the next few days. In any event, if I had the Turkey chasing  Buster on camera, I'm convinced I could have won the $ 10K on the funniest home video program.

Nice story about how a family got their dog back after he went missing 3 years earlier - and they moved across the country.

Interesting the variety of 'critters' that have lived in the white house over the years...

mostly dogs but quite a wide variety of other critters too (and that's not even counting all the bad presidents)!!!

NEW HOME WANTED !!!!!
This is Lexi, she’s an 8 week-old German Sheppard, I bought Lexi as a surprise for my wife but it turns out she is allergic to dogs so we are now looking to find her a new home.
She is 39 years old, a beautiful and caring woman who drives, is a great cook and keeps a good house.
