a breakin up in Huron Township.  Pretty good quality and the 'suspects' should be pretty easy for someone to identify.

The OP should look into whatever / however this camera was disguised.  One of the 'suspects' (hard to say that when you're watching them do the crime) actually hits the camera and moves it somewhat at the 12 second frame and it's crooked after that.  It sure doesn't appear that he even realizes the camera is there much less recording them at 'work'!!!

Multiple cam packages aren't that much more expensive. The best is one that not only stores up to the cloud, but has 2 way audio, motion detection and a mobile device app.

The homeowners obviously did their homework and located them to provide an angle for positive facial recognition, except if the bad guy had a ski mask on. Too many businesses have the camera angle and resolution such as it's difficult to positively ID them. Ever see those vid clips of a robbery of a gas station where they ask for help finding the bad guy and you couldn't tell them from a neighbor kid?

Based on my apartment I only need my 1 fixed cam set to the door to cover a crouch or a 7 ft. person, 2 way audio and mobile app so that if it triggers when I've enabled it I can view and say to them "Hey azzhole, I see you, leave now!"

I haven't had to use it, low crime area, but peace of mind.

I can't imagine the doorbell camera we see advertised on TV being a very good option.
It's pretty obvious it's a camera.  A crook only needs to over it up.

So long as you already have it located for a positive ID before being covered and it went to hard drive or cloud, you're better off than if you hadn't had anything at all and got your stuff ripped off, even if they cover it. And if they cover an outside cam they don't know how many inside cams ya got.

Maybe they think twice, eh? Not chance getting shot, eh?

I think a lot of people skip the link to an actual alarm company due to the cost...  most are at least $30/month.  Don't know how it would be on 'false' break in alarms but I've seen some local municipalities start a 'cost recovery' fee type of program for major repeat offenders on fire alarms.  Seems today I still hear several calls at one time when we've had a recent lightning strike or power outage.  But as sure as you don't send a pumper to check it out it will turn out to be that was the house that took the direct lightning strike.
