I've heard of using super glue to do a quick 'mend' on the tissue but I just can't bring myself to do that...

not sure what else might end up stuck to my finger tips :o :o :o

They Use to sell a liquid bandage that worked like glue but I think they took it off the market. Now they sell a Liquid Bandage that just coats the cut to seal it up but I can't get my wife to try it. She's afraid it has bad chemicals in it.

Found this on a liquid bandage site:

Prevention Tip:  To prevent skin cracks from occurring, wear gloves while performing chores around the house, yard or workshop, and use a vegetable-oil based cream or lotion, which is the best at replenishing the oils lost in the skin that result in the formation of skin cracks.

I buy Nitrile gloves at Harbor Freight
http://www.harborfreight.com/#

I suggest the extra large

The last ones I got at AutoZone weren't much more than that.  I try to stay away from HF...

makes me want to spend $$$$$ ;) ;) ;)

I agree on the bad chemical possibility...

My wife always checks the hand lotions to see what the percentages of contents are...

got to watch for those with lots of alcohol.

My fingertips were definitely better after about 5 hours of the 'treatment'...

I went down to the basement and did a few small projects and it was a constant battle to keep them from slipping off my fingers.  Then I had to go out to the barn to get a tool and when I took my gloves off I 'lost' one of my finger 'cots' in the glove and had to fish it back out.

All in all it seems to provide some fast relief...

calling it a cure might be stretching it.

It was certainly better than doing nothing though.

I did find this on YouTube...

heal your fingers in hours!!!!!!

Heal Dry, Cracked, Split Fingertips in Hours
Those "finger cots" were the funniest things I've seen in a long time. I didn't even know they existed. Wife says they use em to count money...which explains why I've never seen 'em before.
Seems perfect for the micro-penis righties to use as condoms;

No emails, no warnings, no communication whatsoever...just that ban

May be what happened to the other libs as well.

I guess disabling the report to admin link only on the lib side was indicative of the slanted games they play.

Enjoy your spoon-fed Faux News type right-wing echo-chamber.

Edited to add:

This is the only way to answer some of the questions posed:

1) I did nothing to warrant the banishment, it's political.

2) It's the router that's blocked but considering all the nonsense right-wing games being played by those running the site...it's just not worth it to bypass the banishment block.

3) The moron stalkers from MT contemplating a visit will be considered a threat and can expect to have a bad day if they act upon those idiotic thoughts.

BRD. You need to take a few days off.

LOL...

maybe, but I've got too many projects going on right now.  We're going to Florida for a few weeks later on although I've got some maintenance projects to do when we get there.

Fingers are doing pretty good now...

temp is up and humidity is up...

I'm thinking maybe some Florida 70-80 temp and humidity will go a long way toward making them feel better ;) ;) ;)

Found a pretty good article online about keeping the 'proper' humidity in your home as the outdoor temperature fluctuates (what a neat word  ;) ;) ;) )!

http://www.startribune.com/fixit-what-is-the-ideal-winter-indoor-humidity-level/11468916/

And I found a nice handy dandy chart giving similar info.  I'm going to print out and keep it handy so I can double check.

I'm still thinking the Eriemermaid has the best idea on humidity control...

just go south where it's warm and humid all winter!!!

Although I did see they had some nasty storms either yesterday or overnight.

thanks..I'm doing pretty well then...Mine usually in the 30-40% range.   Although some days i can go thru 8 gals of water.   My first clue to turn it down a little is when moisture gathers on the windows where the two meet, especially in the room where the unit is.

Powered ones in the furnace are the easiest to use but they're an ongoing maintenance issue...

and if you have nasty hard mineral laden well water they're almost impossible to keep going.

Room ones do a pretty good job but you still have to keep them filled.

I remember my grandmother keeping a big kettle of water on the wood stove to put the 'steam' in the air!

I have mine setting in front of a very large intake grate.  Seems to distribute it pretty well throughout the house.  But you are right,  Always filling one or both tanks.
And I've found that Essick Humidifier bacteriostatic treatment is the absolute best for keeping the unit and filter clean.
