Screenwriting & Short Film Workshop

Sundays 4:00-8:00 pm, April 10-June 26
Cost: $360

HAVE AN IDEA FOR A MOVIE?  LET FELLOW ARTISTS HELP YOU DEVELOP IT!

IN THIS 3-MONTH WORKSHOP YOU WILL DEVELOP YOUR WRITING, ACTING AND DIRECTING SKILLS TO COMPLETE YOUR VERY OWN SHORT FILM AND SUBMIT IT TO FILM FESTIVALS UPON COMPLETION OF YOUR FILM.  IT’S ALL UP TO YOU!

Do you have a story you’ve been dying to get on paper?  Or maybe you already have one on paper, but need to develop it into “script form”. In this workshop you will work with a group of fellow artists to help you develop your story by workshopping it from its beginning stage all the way to the finished product.  By the end of this workshop the goal is to have a short film written and directed by YOU.

ABOUT YOUR INSTRUCTOR:  Now living in Monroe, MI, Tom Hines spent 23 years working in the film industry in Los Angeles, CA.   He spent much of that time working with and learning from legendary writer/director/producer Garry Marshall (creator of TV’s “Happy Days” and director of many hits films including “Pretty Woman”, “Beaches” and “Valentine’s Day”).  As an independent filmmaker, Tom has directed (“Chronic Town” which had its World Premiere at Robert Redford’s Sundance Film Festival in 2008), produced (“The Talent Given Us” Sundance Film Festival 2005) and most recently was a writer on the upcoming Garry Marshall film “Mother’s Day” (opening in theaters April 2016) starring Jennifer Aniston, Julia Roberts, Jason Sudeikis and Kate Hudson.
