Flag Day 2016
« on: June 14, 2016, 11:30:19 AM »

A short history of Flag Day (as I doubt very few know the story behind it)!!!

http://www.usflag.org/flag.day.html

Our son was here Sunday evening picking up his dog...

we were talking and it somehow came out that he didn't have to work yesterday (Monday)...

I asked him 'why' and he said they had a three day weekend to celebrate 'Flag Day'!!!

We need an old navy ship in the Port of Monroe...

might attract some more tourists and we could do flag day celebrations aboard!

There are a lot of flags on display today for Flag Day 2018.

This has to be one of the more dramatic displays though.

At the straits of Mackinac on the 'Big Mac'!

One activity for Flag Day was a ceremony to honorably destroy worn flags at the National Cemetery in Holly.
