Farewell to Rick Rountree
« on: December 24, 2016, 01:00:39 PM »

Our community has lost a great man.

MT member Rick Rountree (his actual name, and MT profile name) passed away on December 19th.

Services were held a couple days ago.

Rick was the post Commander of the Maybee VFW, and a 20 year veteran of the US Air Force.

I don't know if any of you remembered him or not, but I think he should be remembered.

Rest in Peace, my friend.

Never had the fortune to meet or converse with him on here or in person.   RIP Rick

Rick's Dundee Internet was our first internet service when we moved to Dundee.  Oh do I miss dial-up ----  (not).  When I would go to the office, he was very patient and willing to help with any repairs or questions.

I worked for Rick and his wife at Dundee Internet. He was really an intelligent and fun guy to be around.

There is a picture of him in this article.

He was in the 101st Airborne, I remember him telling me that and the pride he had being a member of that illustrious group.

Thanks, Flip.  I have big plans for London Township.

I have a plan to bring water to some areas that want it, at an affordable price.

I will be overseeing desperately needed revisions in our Zoning Ordinance, protecting all of our residents.

And I have a few surprises in mind for the future...   ;)

How about a safe haven for newly retired prostitutes of Latin heritage to adjust to sex for fun without money exchanges?

Rick was very patient when I was a novice and talked me through fixes via a landline several times (Win 3.1 times).

And as he was former military I believe he's probably grinning down at your banter.

But IMHO I think the thread drift is forgetting the point of the topic.

Clean up some blight?

I might think about London Twp - if some of the.....  questionable landowner practices got under control.

I would hate to build my neat and tidy compound only to have someone move in next door and start their own junk yard.
