Now, he's not dead. He suffered a full cardiac arrest and he's in ICU (and probably a veg), but he's alive...sort of.
Fake news.... again
Apparently it was your Horn news that was the one spreading the fake news... just from their name and logo I think I'd be checking them regularly for 'BS' articles.
Apparently your 'source' fell for the same error that several others did (one of the reasons a reporter needs to vet their sources for each and every story). Seems many reporters and news outlets have fallen into the theory that it is better to be first than it is to be accurate.
A number of outlets, TheWrap among them, mistakenly reported that Petty had died Monday afternoon, after CBS News cited a Los Angeles Police Department source. LAPD later said that report was inaccurate, and that “initial information was inadvertently provided to some media sources.”
On Monday night, longtime Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers manager Tony Dimitriades confirmed that Petty had died at 8:40 p.m. on Monday, after suffering cardiac arrest.
“On behalf of the Tom Petty family, we are devastated to announce the untimely death of our father, husband, brother, leader and friend Tom Petty. He suffered cardiac arrest at his home in Malibu in the early hours of this morning and was taken to UCLA Medical Center but could not be revived,” Dimitriades said in a statement. “He died peacefully at 8:40 p.m. PT surrounded by family, his bandmates and friends.”

http://www.thewrap.com/tom-pettys-death-leads-to-coroner-inquiry/At least the Wrap has actually sort of retracted their error... I didn't see where the Horn had done that yet.
So, Petty passed at 8:40 Monday night and your 'Horn' still had his not having passed as 'fact' after 2:00 PM this afternoon... I think I'd be looking for different sources if I were the Horn... or at least following some of their competition to see what is 'really' happening in the world.
