Looks like Mueller's team was leaking to the press prior to the election.

Seems ironic that the government team that was formed to look into a government meddling in our election had members that were meddling in the same election.    I guess these folks had prior experience on their resume.

FBI agents' text messages spur congressional probe into possible news leaks

Republican-led House and Senate committees are investigating whether leaders of the Russia counterintelligence investigation had contacts with the news media that resulted in improper leaks, prompted in part by text messages amongst senior FBI officials mentioning specific reporters, news organizations and articles.

In one exchange, FBI counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and bureau lawyer Lisa Page engaged in a series of texts shortly before Election Day 2016 suggesting they knew in advance about an article in The Wall Street Journal and would need to feign stumbling onto the story so it could be shared with colleagues.

“Article is out, but hidden behind paywall so can’t read it,” Page texted Strzok on Oct. 24, 2016.

“Wsj? Boy that was fast,” Strzok texted back, using the initials of the famed financial newspaper. “Should I ‘find’ it and tell the team?”

The text messages, which were reviewed by The Hill, show the two FBI agents discussed how they might make it appear they innocently discovered the article, such as through Google News alerts.

“I can get it like I do every other article that hits any Google News alerts, seriously,” Strzok wrote, adding he didn’t want his team hearing about the article “from someone else.”

Strzok played a key role in the early Russia election meddling probe before he was removed last summer by special counsel Robert Mueller for exchanging text messages critical of President Trump, then still a candidate, with Page.

The democrats are good..They always accuse the republicans of doing what they did before the republicans can make a claim,.  Then it's looked at as sour grapes if the republicans want to investigate..

The previous Administration weaponized the IRS to go after political foes and hacked computers of the Legislative Branch/reporters without retribution.

It is not stretch to consider that they would use the intel community against the incoming Administration.

If the FBI wasn't weaponized - it was at least "re calibrated" to re-write laws for Democrats so they didn't have to pursue charges, and go after Trump - because the agents assigned didn't want him as a boss.

Scary stuff!

That seems reasonable. Nobody wanted Trump. He had a reputation most didn't like. Politicians and bureaucrats liked things just like they were. No accountability whatsoever..

Reports are coming out that Comey did use Hillary's Russian dossier to obtain his FISA Court warrant to spy on the Trump team.

The unverified dossier alleging connections between President Trump’s campaign and the Russians was used as evidence by the FBI to gain approval from a secret court to monitor members of Trump’s team, this reporter has learned.

A large portion of the evidence presented in the salacious 35-page dossier put together by former British spy Christopher Steele, has either been proven wrong or remains unsubstantiated. However, the FBI gained approval nevertheless to surveil members of Trump’s campaign and “it’s outrageous and clearly should be thoroughly investigated,” said a senior law enforcement source, with knowledge of the process.

Multiple sources told this reporter that the dossier was used along with other evidence to obtain the warrant from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, known as FISC. The sources also stressed that there will be more information in the coming week regarding systemic “FISA abuse.”

“(The dossier) certainly played a role in obtaining the warrant,” added another senior U.S. official, with knowledge of the dossier. “Congress needs to look at the FBI officials who were handling this case and see what, if anything, was verified in the dossier. I think an important question is whether the FBI payed anything to the source for the dossier.”

This small news item seems more significant in light of recent details.

How much does this "Russia Collusion" fairy tale stink?

It makes Watergate look like Jay Walking.

And even as the DNC's fingerprints and the Obama Politicized FBI become more and more apparent - the former Organizer and Chief still feels qualified to criticize the sitting President at every turn.

What a clown Obama was and is.

I'm still thinking everyone reluctant to push back on dems vary hard on all the Justice dept and FBI illegal activities. If they dig deep enough it will have Obama's finger ptrints all over it. I think they would let it ride rather than put a president and sec of state in prison..

I think we are about to find out why the DOJ have been stonewalling Congressional oversight.

A Bombshell House Intelligence report exposing extensive FISA abuse could lead to the removal of senior government officials

A review of a classified document outlining what is described as extensive Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act abuse was made available to all House members Thursday and the revelations could lead to the removal of senior officials in the FBI and Department of Justice, several sources with knowledge of the document stated. These sources say the report is “explosive,” stating they would not be surprised if it leads to the end of Robert Mueller’s Special Counsel investigation into President Trump and his associates.

The House Intelligence Committee passed the motion along party lines Thursday to make the classified report alleging extensive ‘FISA Abuse’ related to the controversial dossier available to all House members. The report contains information regarding the dossier that alleges President Trump and members of his team colluded with the Russians in the 2016 presidential election. Some members of the House viewed the document in a secure room Thursday.

Rep. Peter King, R-N.Y., offered the motion on Thursday to make the Republican majority-authored report available to the members.

“The document shows a troubling course of conduct and we need to make the document available, so the public can see it,” said a senior government official, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the document. “Once the public sees it, we can hold the people involved accountable in a number of ways.”

The government official said that after reading the document “some of these people should no longer be in the government.”

The document also apparently outlines “several problematic” issues with how FISA warrants were “packaged, and used” state several sources with knowledge of the report.

I watched Hannity for as long as I could stand it tonight but it looks pretty bad for some democrat lovers.  Obama’s fingers are all over it.  That’s going to be an issue.  They don’t want to have to deal with criminal proceedings against him

#ReleaseTheMemo and #NationalPopcornDay are both trending on Twitter in the US.

It will be interesting to see what is in the memo.  Rep. Steve King wrote:

I have read the memo. The sickening reality has set in. I no longer hold out hope there is an innocent explanation for the information the public has seen. I have long said it is worse than Watergate. It was #neverTrump & #alwaysHillary. #releasethememo

https://twitter.com/SteveKingIA/status/954194729511636992

so today we wait for the memo to be declassified and released ...
