Serial Bomber in Austin Tx
« on: March 19, 2018, 11:30:27 AM »

Building bombs isn't something that one normally has the skills or tools for....

There's a terrorist in Tx  randomly picking people and places to practice terror on...

The 4th incident just hit two bike riders...   probably lucky they were on bikes and not walking!

In AIT we got to practice using come C-4 plastic explosive and some various detonators.  Cool stuff to say the least.  For anything more complicated and for being able to 'undo' anything we might find they had 'demolitions' specialists.

I don't know what the original requirements were for that MOS but it does seem like they were frequently some 'strange' people.

I'm sure it's not for everyone!!!

It will be interesting to see if this turns out to be someone with military background.

I wonder how long until someone makes a self driving car bomb.

They have to be really smart or they wouldn't have survived!

Now they've had what appears to be a related explosion inside a FedEx sorting facility close to Austin.

That may be what gets the guy if they can determine the source of the package

I just saw a post on twitter (no real source cited) that the package originated in Austin and was to be delivered in Austin.

Now, if the perp was dumb enough to give their real address.

Hopefully a clerk somewhere will remember accepting the package from an individual and they can trace it that way.

Just saw on Twitter that yet another bomb (#7) has exploded in Austin and there is at least one injured victim.

I haven't seen anything on that yet although I'm sure they'll develop at least some of that through computer forensics.

Lots of excitement overnight in Austin area as LE identified and then located a suspect.  As LE closed in he drove off and eventually ended up in a ditch.  LE shot at him and the vehicle exploded and killed him.

Now, the question is...

are there still armed bombs out there?

I posted last night about the package that exploded and injured a man.  After I went to bed I saw on my phone that incident had happened at a Goodwill store or perhaps near one.  I figured I'd see updates on that when I checked my phone during the night but instead I saw breaking news that they were hot on the trail of a suspect.

So far the only info I've seen on him is that he was a 24 yr old white male.

Going to be interesting to see where he got his bomb making expertise at 24.

I'm sure there will be plenty of 'breaking' news on this one for the next day or so.

A Texas local news outlet is tweeting suspect's name.  Is 'Turtle' a typical given name today?

Quote
The Austin Texas Bombing Suspect has been identified as 24 yr-old Travis County resident Michael Turtle Kreuz.
Seen on video Surveillance at a FedEx package Center with wig & gloves.
Kreuz found dead after bomb blew up in his vehicle in a hotel parking lot as Police approached.

And now a different local news outlet is giving a completely different name...

Gotta love 'breaking news'!
