I work up the other nite and felt a cold coming on. I stopped at the drug store and bought some Zicam nose spray. I used it and felt great. No cold.

Has anyone else used this stuff yet,, I think it is great stuff.

I have a friend that swears by this stuff.  I cant use it because I get nose bleeds real easy due to sinus problems,  the doctor said becasue Zicam is pretty strong he would advise me not to use it.

I use Zicam every time I feel a cold coming on.  I have one right now, actually.  The spray can irritate your nasal passages, so I use the gel.  It doesn't take your cold away - it shortens the duration, and the severity of a cold.  I also have a very keen sense of smell, and I have not detected any change with the use of Zicam.

I had a nasty cold right after Thansgiving....    Livewire suggested the Zicam and we went and bought three different types....    I can't say for sure if I was just due to get better or it really helped.....   a few days later my wife started to feel a cold coming on so she started it just livewire is talking about....   she was over it in few days....   very mild....  mine had been nasty....    so my vote is that it helps

Well I say after this nasty cold I have had  - I will try anything next time I feel a cold coming on.  I am going to try the gel - and as it was pointed out by one of my smarter friends  (thanks by the way) I can put the gel on a q-tip and do it that way, or they sell the q-tips already loaded and ready to use.

Yeah, that will work, cc, but just make sure the gel doesn't go too far into your nose.  It should just be applied to the walls of your nostrils, not deep in your nose, or it will cause severe irritation.  Apply it as soon as you get the first symptoms, too, for maximum effectiveness.

I like products that contain zinc….it’s the only thing that has ever worked to shorten the duration.

The first thing I do when I feel a cold coming on is to drink a pint of good whiskey, followed by a fifth of cheap whiskey. You won't even know you had a cold in the morning.
