In the same token as "a joke is a joke", so is an opinion, right?

Not everyone is offended by the same thing, and in that vein, I understand it's difficult to come up with humor that is not at someone's cost.  I just don't find it necessary to let this represent Monroe in any way.

MomEm, I will not respond to negativity in the joke thread so please stop ruining it for everyone.

Oh the Jewish joke…I copied it as it was without seeing the harm so since you’re offended I will modify it. Sorry.

If you folks have objections for certain jokes then please say so and I’ll be more than happy to modify or remove it but it would appear the only answer for the entire thread is to delete it.

Don’t throw out the baby with the bath water!

The Indian joke #40 is fine by me and I’m part Indian. You old stodgy folks need more humor in your life.

Wait a minute….the sexist jokes must remain! They’re too funny!

I'll probably get slapped for this as it should be posted under "quips & quotes"........but......

I'm a pretty conservative person and I haven't seen anything that I would not let my 13 year old niece read. She may not understand all the nuances, and that's why it wouldn't be funny to her. I however got a few chuckles. :D

I think the term "wop" has something to do with meaning Lady's man. I remember something about the Spanish hiring them to pick grapes and that is what they would call them because they are all so studly  :-*

Are you truly serious about 13 year olds and the "possibility" that they could read something offensive on this site?  Are these 13 year olds you're concerned about living inside a bubble and being home schooled?

Consider that if these 13 year olds are able to get online; then they are MORE THAN LIKELY going to find something we all would deem offensive.  There are more offensive things on television on a Sunday morning than on this site.

Ad pop-ups might not happen here... but they can and do when kids are trolling the net for things.  Unless you have more knowledge than they do about surfing the web... (I'd love to see a percentage of parents that actually DO have better computer skills than their 13 year olds)... these kids can go where they want and when they want... and somehow I doubt THIS SITE is going to be their first choice to make it to the jokes column on Monroe Talks.

Maybe its just me, and I am sorry if I offend those who are "concerned" about kids seeing THIS site... but the crap I see on myspace.com and coming up as spam in our family's various email accounts is FAR MORE offensive than anything I have seen on THIS site.

And as for the "racist" jokes... geez, with what some people call the other people of their same skin these days... I think everyone can take a joke.  I am not a racist, but I do find the humor to be funny... mostly because racist humor exposes the true ignorance within the human race... we all bleed red.

(We all bleed red, while true, is not meant in any way as a condoning of violence, and I hope that FrenchFry and Mom can be resolved without any bleeding or violence.)   ::)

I just wanted to remind everyone about this poll and I figured since it was started in midweek, maybe to end the voting after the weekend.
If you haven’t voted yet and would like to, please do not hesitate.
(The early results are encouraging)
Thanks for your participation.
