Back to the point>>>>>>> Didn't Lowe's just go through a major remodel project about a year ago.  Doubtful they would spend that kind of money just to close up shop!  You invest in the stores that are doing well.

Besides there was talk for the longest time of HD and Lowe's both coming into Monroe.  So, I think there is a market for the Home Improvement Store here!

IMO...that rumor is BUSTED!

It's a gift (if you want to call it that).  Really doesn't matter what the subject matter is, we can get it going in a different direction. ;D

I went to Lowes today...wanted to buy a snow shovel, as my old one has seen better days.

I asked a guy, looked to be a manager, if they had any, and he says "No, those are SEASONAL"..he wasn't kidding. I asked him if he knew what SEASON this is, and if he has seen all that cold white stuff that's everywhere...he just gave me a blank look.  ???

You would think so. But Ford stuck about 200 MILLION into the Norfolk Assembly plant, just a couple years before they CLOSED it.

I doubt Lowes put that much $$ into the Monroe store.

UGH I hate that!  Just today I realized that my ski headband (for keeping my ears warm when outside) is in the coat pocket which my daughter left at her friend's house..... >:( So I thought I would run to Target and get a new one, until I realized that the last time I was there, they already had bathing suits out.... :-\ ???

Why can't stores sell items that are IN season. Why must I buy winter gear in August and bathing suits in January. Whoever it is that decided on doing things that way.....I would like to punch them in the face.... >:(

You as a consumer decided doing things this way.  The stores put everything out when most people are buying for the upcoming season.  All of the hats were sold when the first round of snow came.  Now most consumers are thinking about summer.  Frankly, I am too!

I personally did not decide to do things this way. We as consumers have no other choice. I have wanted a new bathing suit for years now, but cannot even begin to think about buying one when it is 30 degrees outside. By the time it warms up, and I am ready to buy one....they are all picked over.... >:(

I would buy twice as many items, if they were available to purchase during the appropriate season.

I swear Ms. Sassy....this is one of those things that just burns my ***. I didn't encounter this problem until I moved here. I have always said that I am going to open a store and call it "In Season" and I am ONLY going to sell items that are useable during the current season.... ;D

Who is the hell wants to buy a bikini while freezing your *** off while still carrying around that pasty white winter blubber.... >:(

Don't you think there is a reason why no one else has ever opened up a store called "In Season"?  You wouldn't be able to sell anything, because everybody else would have already bought their suit in February when they first came out!  It's a vicious cycle.

You need to go to the "....the future of the country" thread.  My point there and here is that the consumer drives the demand.  We are 2/3 of the nation's economy.  If everyone is buying Christmas ornaments in September, then the stores are going to put them out.  If no one buys, then they'll wait until November to do it!  Supply and Demand!
