Pilots have been known to be under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.

It makes a lot of sense for our government, or any other government of Earth to cover up the existence of aliens for one reason:

The fact that the government (and thus the military, as an extension of government) is in place to protect and defend the homeland.

Close encounter sightings would suggest that UFO’s were (or, are) violating U.S. (or what ever country) Airspace with relative ease.

The mere thought of “things” being able to come and go as they please are unsettling to the government/military, since it defeats their purpose as being able to defend and protect the homeland.

Because they find it unsettling, imagine how the public would take it?  They (we) would take it a little further than unsettling…we would be in hysteria.

The problem I have is this answer to government cover-ups:

The government covering up in fear to protect us from mass-fear would suggest that the government has had no formal, or otherwise diplomatic relations with intelligence not form earth… “Aliens.”  So they are completely in the dark as we (the public) are.

This is unsettling to me, because we have people from all countries in the international space station literally 24/7, and we have space ships going up from U.S., Russia, and I think even China and the European Union…we are moderately active in our own little pocket of space above the planet.  You would think that, even if you assume our technology couldn’t detect alien space ships…that astronauts would at least have seen space ships going to and from the planet?

The whole part about not knowing creeps me out, more so than the thought of aliens.

Thank you for that.  I was just letting it be but I definitely appreciate your input.  :)

You can think I'm crazy if you want but here's my thoughts...

Hm, well, it's a combination of my own observations, thoughts and from what I've read and heard from "authority" people.  I definitely believe there is life "out there".  And I think the reason they come here is simply to observe us.  It sure seems that UFO sightings are getting more frequent and I wonder (along with others) if it may coincide with "the end of times" (2012 and all that).

I have a strong feeling that as we reach "critical mass" that they are going to be of some help to our survival.

I actually think there may be more people saying they see them more to come also......BUT they are not what you think.
Yes it does have to do with the end times, but it is not "real" like you think.
It will be one of probably many "explanations" that people will use and buy into when Jesus Christ comes for His Church, which people call the rapture (greek word -rapimeir - meaning to be caught up)
At some point people will be disappearing right in front of people and this will send the world into a panic.
Seeings how things like "War of the worlds"(On the radio a long time ago) Star trek" and so on have come about, made the belief more popular belief, but it is a false one.
Jesus warned against being decieved.
I do not think people who claim to see these things are "crazy" but they are decieved, just like seeing ghosts and so on.
They may see these things, but it is satanic deception.
The point? To keep as many people away from the truth as he can.

Well, then if believeing that there's life somewhere else in this infinite universe is Satan's doing...HAIL SATAN!

don't you think it is a bit arrogant of us to believe that in all the universe God only put intelligent life on just one planet?

I hear that a lot and understand why people say that, but again, the future has been written and the Bible gets twisted.
No, i am not arrogant to think that way.
There is a spirit world and a battle going on, satan will use whatever he can to keep people from the truth.
When the rapture happens, he will use it to let people believe "It can't be the return of Jesus, I am a good person, why would He leave me behind." or whatever else lie will be used.
So, the ufo theory will be snatched up and believed

What i find strange is that people believe in UFO's but not the rapture. God can do anything He wants, but that gets pushed aside as "religious nuts", but more and more people are believeing in UFO"S.

Just reminds me of what happened with that radio show years ago "The war of the worlds"
People bought it hook line and sinker, but it was just a story.

The Bible talks about who Jesus will bring back and who He will take, then comes the tribulation.
After that, a new heaven and earth. Nothing about space people or UFO"S.

Space is a bit more of a proven theory and we can explore it where as the bible is just a bunch of words on a paper that was written thousands of years ago and no way to explore it or prove  it. so. double edge sword there.

I go by faith which is what we are to go by, but the proof is right in front of you.
I could write a bunch of words on paper about the future, but they will not come true.
The prophesies in the Bible are happening right now, all over the world.
It was written along time ago, but coming true today.
So will the rest of it.

Let me ask, have you read the Bible and compared it to what is going on, or do you go on opinion and what you have heard?

It's just a matter of what you want to believe right now.
The Word is a double edge sword, and it does divide, even if you don't see it.

When you believe it, you will see it

who says the christian faith is what we go by? the bible? your pastor? the pope? Bush? ok. actually i perfer the flying spaghetti monster faith. has more true values than those in the christian faith. and no i have never read the bible through and through... Its a great book of fiction tho. but continue to limit your mind. luckly there are those out there willing to explore the possibilities, take the chances we need to, and better all of human kind. instead of fighting for which god/faith we need to and needless killing.

i for one believe, by basic law of possibilites that there is life on other planets. if there are trillions of stars in the universe, and of those trillions, a hundred billion have some from of planets, and billion of those planets have simple water on them, and a hundred million of those planets have simple life on them... then it stands to believe that there is at least 1 other planet capable of supporting some form of intelligent life.

my two cents.

I believe God nd his Word, not my pastor, not the pope, not opinions..
we all have the freedom of choice.
But to answer your question, yes, the Christian faith, as long as it is based on the gospel
Jesus died, was buried and rose again, believe it in your heart and confess with you mouth Lord Jesus, then yes that is the only way to be saved.

anything else is wrong, you think I am closed minded but you have cllosed your mind thst the Bible is fiction instead of believing that it is indeed the word of God.
Fiction cannot tell the future, and it cannot make the prophesies come true, only God can.

You don't have to believe it, but your argument is not with me, it is with God

The bible is NOT the word of God.

The Bible is nonsense in a thousand different scientific ways.

Ask yourself this simple question: Why, when you read the Bible, are you not left in awe? Why doesn't a book written by an omniscient being leave you with a sense of wonder and amazement? If you are reading a book written by the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving creator of the universe, wouldn't you expect to be stunned by the brilliance, the clarity and the wisdom of the author? Would you not expect each new page to intoxicate you with its incredible prose and its spectacular insight? Wouldn't you expect the author to tell us things that scientists have not been able to discover yet?

Yet, when we open the Bible and actually read it, we find it is nothing like that at all. Instead of leaving us in awe, it leaves us dumbfounded by all of the nonsense and backwardness that it contains. If you would look at the Bible fresh, and read what it actually says, you find that the Bible is ridiculous. If we are honest with ourselves, it is obvious that an "all-knowing" God had absolutely nothing to do with this book.

The Bible is a book written thousands of years ago by primitive men. A book that advocates senseless murder, slavery and the oppression of women has no place in our society today. It is time for us to recognize this simple fact.
