I don't have one bit of sympathy for Rush. He got himself into the problem and got out of it. None of my business.  From a logic point of view his actions do not in any way invalidate what he says. For example, the Priests who raped young boys did not mean their message about God was invalide.

Limbaugh never said that if you don't support the President you are not patriotic. Find me one citation or quote about that.

A President may - and should be - criticized by his employers (us) if he is doing things you don't agree with. Bush has much to answer for.  Clinton earned his brick-bats too.
I don't think you can compare someone who is out of their mind on hard drugs to the priest/rape/preach, but hey that is just my opinion. Rush was out of his mind then, and what he says now makes about as much sense to me!

It may take me a while to see if I can find transcripts for all of his bajillion rant fests.  Of course, I guess it could have been Hannity.  Their drivel seems to run together.

I have no problem with a president, regardless of party affiliation, to to called to task.  The thing is there are no "neutral" commentators out there as that would not get ratings.  Left smearing right smearing left.  I am not a regular listener to either of their shows, but would occasionally listen in the car on the way to or from work.

In all seriousness, do they have a counter part spewing thsi same type of crap from the left?  I'm sure that there is someone out there.  I don't do a lot of talk radio and probably never would have heard either one of these two except when I caught them on WJR, which I don't listen to anymore.

Al Franken, Michael Moore, & Howard Stern are a few lefties that come to mind lol.
I do like Arianna Huffington, she is a welcome relief to Ann Coulter!

Do any of these people, beside Howard Stern, have radio or TV shows.  I would like to see what style they use to get there message across.  I guess the final ananlysis may be that all of these types a entertainers, and that there opinions matter as much Chuck Norris and Alec Baldwin.

Now that I think about it....what do you mean by support?  Does that mean you cannot disagree on something?  Does it mean you must be in lock-step with the administration?

Nonsense.  He wasn't "out of his mind on hard drugs".  He still ran his show.  Besides, he has been on the air for decades and the drug thing is relatively recent. I am comparing what people do - not why they do it or what their mental star was - to their words.

I hate to break it to you, but Rush Limbaugh did his show on self prescribed illegal prescription drugs. I think a person's character goes to their reliability.

Mike Huckabee refuses to bow out of the presidential race.
Typical Republican. He has no exit strategy.
Huckabee's such a stay-the-course guy, regardless of who's elected, maybe they'll appoint him Chaplain of Baghdad

President Bush was cheered at a conservative conference in Washington.
He just completed the Republican Grand Slam.
That's when you play golf on Christmas and Thanksgiving and your wedding anniversary and your wife's birthday, all in one year.

Is it just me or does John McCain look like the Southwest pilot on the flight from San Diego to Las Vegas who won’t shut up over the intercom about the Grand Canyon?

What a great weekend. Cheney went hunting and everybody returned with at least one face.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.

You cannot help small men by tearing down big men.

You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.

You cannot lift the wage-earner by pulling down the wage-payer.

You cannot help the poor man by destroying the rich.

You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than your income.

You cannot further the brotherhood of man by inciting class hatred.

You cannot establish security on borrowed money.

You cannot build character and courage by taking away men’s initiative and independence.

You cannot help men permanently by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves.

Most political commentary is negative.

I could have made it postive and used 'can' instead of 'cannot'.   Then I would've had the Cliff Notes version of the policies and philosophies of both of the Democrat would-be nominees. :)
