Would you pay your taxes?
« on: April 14, 2008, 09:42:32 PM »

If they weren't automatically withheld?  If you had to save and then write a check every month, would you feel the pain more than you do now?  Would you be more of an activist for responsibilty in government spending?

For me it would be remembering to do it. I had a small business at one time, paid taxes quarterly. I forgot once.
When you get the "letter" you try harder to remember. lol

If the Government didn't take 35% of your income would you be better off?

We need some level of taxation.  Roads, police, fire, representation...etc. But the waste would be highly scrutinized if you were reminded every month that you have to send money in again!  I think you would ask...."What am I getting for my money?"

I have asked where my tax dollars have gone for the last 40 years.
Please tell me, did they do any good?

I have mentioned several times here that if we were paid our wages in cash and then had to immediately hand over that portion of our pay for local, state, and federal taxes; we would ALL become tax revolutionaries.

If you don't like your taxes, take it up with the government.
If you don't want to pay your taxes maybe you should change your citizenship.
