Well here are dome FACTS! She was not wearing THOSE particular clothes, or make up when she turned on the theatrical tears to get the  sympathy of the jury. The defense attorney, Asad Farah, is a wonderful man and did not put on a defense because he never thought there was even a remote possiblity of a guilty verdict because they did not have one shred of substantiated evidence. ZERO!!! Only Talk from disgruntled ex-employees. Every witness told the police one story and then told a different story for the jury. And a different story than each other. Too bad the jury does not get to see the police report. They could have seen the blatant inconsistencies. (LIES)
Yes, this whole case started because the parents of two "First-Cousins" wanted the owner to pay their kids $4.30 more an hour than the Law calls for. And, demanded that no taxes be paid out of their Tips.
That is what this case is REALLY about. The step father went to the owner and threatened him with sexual harassment charges and said he knew he was very close to getting a liquor license and then threatened that he wouldn't get the liquor license if someone accused him of serving alcohol. Then tried to shake him down for MONEY! The other parent threatened him also did same thing. He never knew they were related. He didn't go along with the shake down. Too bad, it would've been a lot cheaper had he just paid up.
Then a few months later when a parent threatens him again, the owner call the police. The cops call him and he takes his stepdaughter to the police and Bang, now all of a sudden, it's the "Playboy Channel." The police get her first cousin and her best friend to corroborate her story.
And there you have it on the pornography charge.

The alcohol is not even mentioned by these girls in the police report whatsoever. They take the stand and say he sold wine for $8.00 a glass. Who, in their right mind, would pay $8.00 for a glass of cheap red wine?
Again ZERO Evidence. Just their word, unsubstantiated with any proof or facts.
Guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. There can be no doubt. (SUPPOSEDLY IN THE REAL WORLD)
The prosecution never presented any proof. Just words from disgruntled people with an ax to grind.
That is why the attorney didn't put on a defense.  They believed in the system and the system let them down.

[/This sounds like Monroe Justice system! There is no Justice in this town! These girls should be ashamed of themselves! They lied this time, but whatever goes around comes back around! They don't have any idea what it feels like to get your life ruined, by lies. It's not fair that some of us have to pay while others get off scott free because they knew someone! quote]

This is terrible. Young people filing false police reports and perjuring themselves over a two-bit part-time job.
Wonder why it hasn't happened to any of the other restaurants in the city/county?

Yeah, I'm sure the accused is completely innocent of all wrongdoing, and that these kids are putting their necks on the line for a crummy job in a CONEY ISLAND.

Leave it to Monroe residents to blame it on young folks no matter how ridiculous the charge.

They were working at the place that served steaks and seafood making really good tips, especially for a high school senior. It was the parents that pushed them into getting even with him and were bragging at school how they were going to sue him. Little did they know their actions would bankrupt him. These days people are lawsuit happy.

Everyone forgets that he put over $100,000.00 in renovations to those two buildings to the benefit of the landlord. A TOTAL revamp of those two buildings. You think his landlord would have worked with him a little.

The renovations the Tenant put in were for the benefit of the Tenant, not the Landlord. The Landlord had no financial interest in the business, and was simply renting space. Space that the Tenant renovated for his own business' benefit. The space had been remodeled to "new" just five years previous, and only had one tenant, a travel agency. The Tenant wanted change, and he made his own changes.
As for working with him a little, I would consider three months free rent while renovations were under way was working with him. I would consider the fact that even when rent started, he was given the option to pay payments of $150.00 per month to make the initial first months payment. I would consider the fact that even though payments may have been late or the rent check was held instead of deposited right away, there was NEVER a late fee charged. Then, rent is not paid for three months and you say I should work with him a little? Are you serious? Why not just open up rent free? Let me provide him a free space for his business. Let me pay for his equipment, electricity, heat, water, and even his food. I may as well cook it for him too. Why not just sit at home and let me bring him money every once in a while. Would that be working with him enough? Bad enough the business was open for the last three months without his paying rent. You still want more?
The plain and simple truth is that you do not pay rent, you get evicted.

Something almost unheard of in the teens today... :-\

This is a somewhat unfair comment/opinion.

Of all the teens I know, (and there are many) they all have good work ethics, are pursuing careers, have clean records and are polite and courteous.  They are wonderful role models for those around them.

This whole incident is FULL of facts that are missing for the sake of this conversation.   And, if it's not in the court record, it's just hard to accept all these MT comments about the poor guy being "set up" as more than gossip.

He's been found guilty of things and will answer for them.  That's not gossip.  That's fact.

And, this whole story is sad.  :(

[ Who are you to know these comments are gossip? What if it was you and you were set up? It happens when you least expect it? If you haven't been to court in Monroe then you probably don't have any idea what goes on there? Everyone in there are buddies and they all work together to get who they want.!quote author=MM1 link=topic=5460.msg140325#msg140325 date=1208395282]

But what makes your comments anymore believable than those who agree with the decision of the jury?

I don't know either way, so I have no opinion...

WHATTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT
okay so I know I had a thread I wanted to die a LONG time ago about this. BUT ARE YOU KIDDING ME? First the 19 year old dressed for it so she must have wanted him to put on the teen porn channel? Guess what teen porn is illegal and .......... so I suppose SHOWING A TEEN PORN IS AS WELL. so if she wears flirty clothes WHICH SHE IS 19 SHE SHOULD! I am a HAG .... an old hag so I won't be sporting anything to flirty as obviously you won't either Rose or Mom of three. But 19 year olds should dress their age. And dressing their age doesn't mean RIGHT TO OFFEND/RAPE/TAKE ADVANTAGE OF! Get a clue.

He had a trial...... do you really think that the jurors are so stupid to be fooled by stories that You say are made up....... puhlease.

Talk about ticking someone off..... I'm ticked off and I'm sorry your brother and son or husband whoever the owner is to You (obviously someone close) but I have a teen age daughter and she is allowed to dress cute.... and if your relative shows her porn..... he better wear steel skivvies b/c I'd blow his nads off!
