They also fired another long time manager who managed the Arby's, even after sending her to the month long Taco Bell College. Then they replaced her with another manager for $10,000 per year less.
Taco Bell College? I know McDonalds has a school of Hamburgerology... all for little pay as well.
Shame - as I think I know who the manager was.
The Pilot gas station at exit 18 on I-75 and Nadeau.
They owned the Arby's (turned it into a Taco Bell now)...they fired a long time manager for fraternizing with the hired help when in fact they were long-time friends in the first place. In fact she helped her gay friend hire in...everybody knew it.
Actually I'm quite sure they just used that as an excuse....the truth is they found out she was expecting again and wanted to avoid the expense on the company health insurance.
Sadly, nothing can be done about since Michigan is an at will state, meaning an employer can fire without cause.
So Obamacare takes it's toll on another job

And as a side note: I doubt that management at any fast food place has any form of organized labor ties.
It's nothing new for Michigan or any other State...
It's just good business practice to take care of your management - if you want good results.
The ones left will see how the previous ones were "taken care of" and perform accordingly
This location (Pilot) was always a poor one for roads and proximity - so the "business" decision was made to cheapen the menu.
