Water Parks
« on: August 28, 2007, 12:34:55 PM »

We went to the Great Wolf Lodge last weekend. I thought it was nice there were a few things I would change. Does anyone know of any good waterparks in the area? Indoor or outdoor.

My kids love the water so we try to hit all of the places nearby or when we are on vacation.  I always thought Wisconsin Dells would be a great waterpark trip!

When we went to Cantrick, the splash pad water was icy cold!  Like too cold to stand.  The pool itself isn't super warm, but I just did not expect the temperature difference.

My son will be going to preschool at the Catrick building and he was certain they would get to use the pool area.   :)

Cedar Point also has an indoor water park.  It is outside of the park.  Went there a couple of years ago.  The water park itself was nice, but the hotel that is attached to it was, in my opinion, not the nicest.  Of course for all I know, they may have made improvements to it.  you know how customer oriented Cedar Point is.  Also, do not forget the Kalahari, just down the road from the Great Wolf.  After the latest addition, I read that it is now supposed to be one of the largest in the United States.  Have not been there, but from all I hear, it is great.  Been to Wisconsin, it was good, but it was cool and damp when we were there, so cannot judge too well.

Been to all of them. And by far the Kalahari is the best. We go to indoor waterparks every Feb.  As Ishkibibl said Cast away bay, was nice but for the money the rooms are sad. Dundee waterpark is small. Make sure you check out their web sites for specials. Since we go in the winter time, we got a $1,000 room for $299.  a night. Sooo didn't want to leave!!!

The wavepool is very nice but I didn't think the ride to the right when you walk in is that cool.

I read a thing online that said when you order tickets you can sign up to get a free $40 gas card at Kalhari in WI. Only thing is, that would only get you 1/2 way to Chicago. :P
