Why do you feel or think this is "cool"...?

I am absolutely appalled by this kind of thing being a matter of law...Why and when did it become so cool and hip to be gay...?

You are so wrong there Amy, how about the governments in Iran and other Islamic run countries...There you have a religion with total control, that's real control, absolute control, not just an influence like religion here is in the states...

First, I am not talking about monroedude.  I do agree with him that marriage is between a man and a woman...though I didn't put it in as crass of terms as he did with his last comment.

Second, my analogy points to the essence of the subject matter.  To put it in today's vernacular...it is what it is ..and it ain't what it ain't.   

Meaning : The Cal. S. Ct. can "legalize" gay/lesbian unions and call it a marriage ( put a dress / lipstick on a pig and call it a super model)...it doesn't change the "essence" that it is not right ( it's still a pig).

I hope this makes my earlier post clearer.

I do somewhat agree with you BUT maybe it is because of my upbringin I do not go along with gay marriage. I do think that my parents did a good job at raisin me. But if that makes me a bad guy then please pray for me.

Now if you believe in it stick to your guns and promote it among family, friends, and the entire world. I am sticking to what I believe. That just means we have different opinions.

oh yeah its so cool being a second class citizen... yup! yer right. you should try it. yuck. you make me sick. i guessin you'd feel different if yer kid was gay, got beat up in high school, cried nighty because he didnt know what was wrong with him... all because the beautiful person that he is, falls in love with a guy... or would you just disown him... yeah. cool. i dont think cool would be the word i would choose to describe what being gay is.
