Visit any other business and start spouting off some of the crap that goes on here and see where it gets you.  For example, why not have dinner with a certain city council member at any restaurant in town and have the same argument there.  I'll bet you are asked to leave.  And I'll bet you aren't welcome back.  Ever.

This is no different.  Its owned by a private business and they are free to enforce whatever set of rules they want.

I’m not in favor of censorship but if key words need to be modified for a good reason then it’s understandable.

What I’ve witnessed is lazy editing………removing entire topics instead of surgically removing words and admonishing the poster so everyone could learn from the mistakes.
Amen amen amen! Perfect.
Instead, the culprit, if you will, gets all of their bad press removed, You wonder if they just may be  the very one who bellyached to the administrator to delete the entire topic in order to get them out of a tight spot and a saving grace of their reputation. If they want to arrogantly dish it out, then they should be ready to be on the receiving end. Especially when they have something to hide.
Most of what I witnessed was  a holier-than-thou biting attitude of superior virtue and all the self-righteous, pious indignation. And when it comes full circle to bite them, they call names. So the names should have been removed. Not the questions to them. The party backed in the corner was slinging the name-calling. So very typical when there is no argument or they don't have an intelligent answer. Or some just throw out a thank you to try to be cute to cover themselves.
It is apparent, to all that did get a chance to read the deleted topic, that someone was backed into a corner of their own accord, and lucky for them, POOF! All their troubles went bye bye with the deletion of the topic. All that read the topic remembers what was transpiring. there was NO ANSWER. and there was ample time to make a reply. But there was none. I'm glad I printed it before it disappeared.
In the end it's the MEN property and they can do with it as they please. They saved someone this time around. So be it.
But then again, so much for FREE SPEECH!

It is very different….this is an internet forum….not a restaurant.

News organizations will normally advocate freedom of speech and I commend their attempted hands off approach.

My very favorite scuttlebutt is when it concerns elected officials but unfortunately they have the power to apply pressure to censor the media…..well our local media anyway.

Oh agreed when you say when it concerns elected officials.
Here is a post below from another thread that shows the MEN censor only what they want to and not across the board. Seems to be biased.
Here it is;

If you don't like it here then GET THE FUCKK OUT.  Homeland Security protects your as$ and all you do is bittch.

With the discussions on censorship, I thought this needed pointing out, since I find it completely offensive. Why is it not deleted? I DO NOT  actually agree with the deleting of posts, but find this far more offensive than the post I'd made that was deleted

Please notice the style of writing in both French and MOT.  Each uses CAPS to emphasize words throughout their posts.  I"m sure if you look back to a few other "people" you'll see the same style.  Now i'm sure other people may use them occasionally, but these "people" seem to use them on a regular basis.... i'm just saying....

When the Nazis came for the communists,
I remained silent;
I was not a communist.

When they locked up the social democrats,
I remained silent;
I was not a social democrat.

When they came for the trade unionists,
I did not speak out;
I was not a trade unionist.

When they came for the Jews,
I remained silent;
I wasn't a Jew.

When they came for me,
there was no one left to speak out.

I heard a comedian one time do a whole bit on I was just saying. It's as though a person expects a free pass by using that overdone phrase.
I notice that Flanders does not capitalize when using the word (i'm).... and beware, he uses those dots... just like that....
Adolph Hitler.... Stalin.... Idi Amin.... Kim Jong Il.... Benito Mussolinii.... used to do the same thing on a regular basis.... I'm just saying....
Add to that list Flanders

Did that sound silly? I did a whopping two total posts, and you are "just saying" that I am two different people?
It took you, two posts just to make a cheap shot at me. You are reckless with your accusations, because, as I read your prior posts, you have a personal problem with MOT, as you call her.

Now for a brief English lesson. To emphasize a word, there are two choices. make the word bold.
or you can EMPHASIZE !

One question. What did your off the wall, ridiculous comment have to do with the subject of this topic?

For only having two posts you sure feel strongly about that accusation that you should know nothing about being the newcomer that you are.  It's like you've been accused of it before. Strange. :-*

I agree with your strange comment. VERY!

I should know nothing because I'm a newcomer? Wow! Just for the record to set you straight on your weird and tripped out postings. I have been on forums and have watched MT for quite some time for entertainment from the bleachers. Probably so I wouldn't encounter dweebs that take their hallucinations out on newcomers.

Flanders,  he's not fooling anyone with his same ridiculous rant - it's sure easy to pick out.

Now it's under three different names in the same thread.   *:)

It is very different….this is an internet forum….not a restaurant.

Its still a place provided to gather by a private business.  Just because someone creates an internet forum doesn't mean the give up the right to enforce rules.

On the matter of "lazy editing".  Why should they have to spend their time editing something that's gone so awry?  And if they did, you'd just accuse them of editing to make one party or another appear in a better light.
