If someone deliberately attacks you, then you deal with it how you wish... but I'm sure, since French has made it clear that they've been watching MT for quite a while... he/she is capable enough to know how some people around here react.

First of all, UtilitySlug is ANYTHING but a Mob Member.  That comment only amplifies your inexperience on MT.

Second, you will clearly KNOW when to cry "I've been attacked" here.  You haven't seen that day yet, but you seem to be diligently working on it.

You just need to state your views and let others state theirs.  But, you don't have to resort to name calling.  That only reflects poorly on you and indicates that you've run out of ideas and have nothing left of value to contribute.

Exactly what has been said about the mob rule on here. your irresponsible accusation against French based on what? Ridiculous rant? Come on! After only 3 posts, you begin your attack? What does your little gang do, PM each other and then strike the new poster?
Maybe there's a correlation here. They found that those exposed to lead, (eating paint chips) are prone to harmful effects to judgement, the cognitive function and ability to regulate behavior. Sounds like maybe too many paint chips as a child? What drives you to keep attacking people?

No where in that statement did it say anything about French being accused of being you or MO3.... so where is your point? For example, we're now considering whether to add a new rule to the Terms of Service banning multiple accounts from the same IP address. As many users have noticed, there have been some flagrant abuses in recent days.

We didn't ban them from the beginning - as many Web sites do - because we saw little harm in someone having a split personality - more than one personages on MonroeTalks.com. But using multiple accounts to gang up on someone doesn't seem right.

First of all, I would like to thank you, as always, for coming in and directly talking with us.

Second, I think that is a great idea! Too many people have abused this option, and I think that you, as the administrator, should take it under great consideration of banning it, because it has gotten way out of hand. It's one thing to come on and have a strong opinion of something... but it's another to come on having that strong opinion, under three different names, and shoving them down people's throats.... and then if they don't comply, the personal attacks start.

It's getting a little ridiculous around here... and I think if you took that action of banning, it would help the forum and community. And hopefully bring back some people that have disappeared because of this nonsense.

Really? I'm  beginning to get the hang of it though. When someone asks a question, another person comes on instead and beats around the bush. No answers. Just a good tongue lashing from a regular.

I agree to your premise and have stated it myself. possibly my opinion is off base that he is being a bully? However, what names did I call anyone? After close examination, I guess you could hang your hat on the word bully. I did not mean it as you implied. It is the common technique being utilized by the regulars any time a newb comes on and gets attacked. Attacked with accusations or just an outright attack. An attack nonetheless.

Many people come and go for many reasons.  It's not fair to think all names that have not shown up for a while did in fact "throw in the towel".  They may have just moved on.  They may have just gotten busy with other things.  Or they may have had enough. 

Most people with any real interest in MT who reaches the end of their rope usually just take a break, but you see them eventually back at it.  There's nothing wrong with that anyway.  I'm not so sure it's a good thing to build a "LIFE" around this place.   

I would like to think the nonsense gets cleaned up for those of us who choose to participate, on whatever level that is.  Occasional or 24/7. 

Anyone who thinks the rules here are to stringent should move on themselves.

How would Dan's proposal of banning multiple accounts affect couples on MT?   

I agree than a person should just be one person. But there are two MT members under our roof.

Yes!! Please do!!! I'm very tired of wondering who's who. Kinda takes the fun out of it if I'm constantly wondering if somone is just messing with us. That would be a very welcome change!

My opinion is there is too much censorship everywhere we turn. If ALL the participants are actively involved, then that makes someone fair game and they have opened themselves up to scrutiny by their own posting. Turn about is fair play. Those that come on in an arrogant manner to blast others need no protection.

However, I believe that if someone was NOT a participant and they were being talked about, then maybe they need protection. If they have more than one account, it is an unfair advantage to have numerous accounts. The Terms of Service currently do not prohibit individuals from creating more than one account on MT. It should NOT be allowed. That in itself would diminish the attacks since I believe the ones doing the attacks have different accounts from which to do their attacks.

Lastly, if someone doesn't like the content, they should go to a thread that conforms to their personal standards.

I agree with censorship when ONE person who has a vendetta goes after and attacks others without proof. If you have the proof, show it. If you do not, move on.

I agree with Utility Slug... DEFINITELY a familar ring to the style. MOT, JR, and now French sound just alike. He uses the same words and does not "get" the irony of what is being said. Sounds just like JF!!!
