Remember hurricane katrina? They raised the price of gas immediately, didn't wait for demand.

I have many thoughts on gas prices. For one, the people that hate americans are in charge, and constantly looking for ways to "cripple" our country.
Secondly, I truly believe there are some good old boy americans making some big profits here. If they weren't, they would be a lot more determined to work on the problem and find solutions.
I have other thoughts too, but will not go into that. I am kind of on the radical side.  :D

Your thoughts are right on the money, Rivers!  Doesn't sound radical to me at all!

When I was a little boy, my mother spoke of a prophecy, of a time when all the world would be covered in darkness and the fate of all of mankind would be decided. One night I finally got the courage to ask my mother why God had changed, why He was so angry with His children. “I don’t know,” she said as she tucked the covers around me. “I guess He just got tired of all the bullshlt.”

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,356885,00.html

Excerpts:
Top executives of the five largest oil companies tried to shift anger over high prices to a debate over supplies Wednesday (May 21,2008), leading a senator to accuse them of acting like "hapless victims" while racking up record profits.

He asked Simon (J. Stephen Simon, executive vice president of Exxon Mobil Corp) what his total compensation was at Exxon, a company that made $40 billion last year. Simon replied it was $12.5 million annually.

The executives, appearing under oath before the Senate Judiciary Committee, said they know high prices are hurting people, but they said the cause is not company profits but global supply and demand.

Hello!!! Wish I made that much a year, or even half.  They are blaming the American public for the high prices and laughing all the way to the bank.
