Dandy_Richardvilles,

That really was an impressive post!

I really enjoyed it and hope to see more.

Well Dandy I'm proud of you. Finally you came up with an argument. Course rather than back up how you can pick up all these lies from listening to Rush's program, clearly all you did was work hard at doing searches on the internet. Heck I'm a regular listener and I couldn't recall all this stuff without searching on the internet myself.  Setting aside your obvious lack of integrity with regard to your claiming to glean this information from actually listening to the program, lets move on.

You dug up a few of his opinions that even I would disagree. But then again, can you name a
person that has been on the radio for 19 years where you have agreed with everything they say?

Yet in all your research you didn't come up with a "I did not have sex with that woman" .... type
of a lie.

I really like the part attacking his global warning skepticism, which I share.  Since you've proven
your adeptness at internet searches, type in global cooling & Time magazine and global cooling
and US News and World. Long and short is there was warming from 1880 to 1940. From 1940
to 1979 the earth cooled. In 1979 a warming trend set in again and today we are back to 1940 temperatures. Call Al Gore, as he spews out all that carbon in his private gulfstream jet to spread
his message explainig how you and I should be riding bicycles and see what he has to say.

I'm done with this topic.  I'll leave it to you libs to find rapture in congratulating yourselves on

SueLee, TK, and frenchfry...thank you

John, stay with me, I'll do the hard thinking for you.

I didn't just come up with an argument yesterday, as my previous posts make very apparent.  Yesterday I put forth an argument that's impossible for you to refute without resorting to more of this "do not, infinity +1" line of rebuttal regarding my listening to Rush.  However, it makes me feel giddy like a schoolgirl in love to hear that you are proud of me; I didn't know you had feelings for me.

As I said before, even if I sat and listened to Rush's show with you, you'd still deny it happened.  Even though those points I raised yesterday were discussed on his show around a month ago, it's difficult for me to believe that you can't recall them, you having a mind like a steel trap and all.

I have to admit, I only heard a few minutes of his show yesterday, so I only caught one lie.  It was around 12:30 when he was talking about immigration.  He stated that attempts to curb illegal immigration are not racist, but based on enforcing the laws of the land (or words to that effect)  That's true.  Then he went on to claim that he's not a racist.  Ahem, it's your lie Rush, tell it any way you want to.  I'm not pointing to just the Donovan McNabb issue, nor am I just referencing other remarks he has made about Hispanics.  While I think that Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton have a number of problems of their own (race-baiting, the Hymietown comments and Tawana Brawley for example), if you can't notice even the slightest racial undercurrent when Rush has parody soundbites/radio interviews with impersonators of them, or when he does his own impersonations of them, you're not paying attention.  Oh, and he's been quite fair with Barack as well.  Perhaps the only minority Rush treats well are $5 prostitutes in the Dominican Republic when he's got a bottle of Viagra and some cash burning a hole in his pocket.  Mr. Morality indeed.

Following his "I'm not a racist" comment yesterday, he began talking about how the Clintons look to Asia when they need money.  Didn't hear all of that, so I can't comment on it.  But let me guess, despite all these comments you still believe I've never listened to him, right?  Tell me John, will I ever be a person of integrity, like Rush?

*                                                                         *                                                                             *

Somehow I don't see there being any shame in being a reader, a student, a researcher, and a fact checker.  I do know a thing or two about a thing or two, but there are so many things that I don't know enough about, so yes, I do take the time to try and educate myself on a number of topics.  I don't see that as a weakness, nor as being otherwise objectionable.  I listen to a number of different voices before forming an opinion, (Fox news being one of them if it makes you feel any better) and I think everyone would do well to do the same.  Still, to paraphrase a Rush quip, I can beat him, or you, with half my brain tied behind my back.

The only way that Rush survives is that he is the primary news source for millions (easier to listen than to read), and because he relies on the cult of personality.  Once Rush indoctrinates people, in no small part by playing on their fears and prejudices, they then proceed to reject any information from all other sources, the so-called drive-by media, whenever it conflicts with words spoken by their god.  Do you actually listen to the callers on his show?  Often times it seems like every other caller begins the conversation by paying tribute to their Golden Calf.  It's not so much embarrassing as it is frightening.  A significant majority of callers then proceed to do nothing more than parrot what Rush has said previously.  Of course when you screen out any callers who don't agree with you, things tend to go that way.

I'm glad you disagree with Rush on the issues I brought up yesterday, that shows all is not lost.  No, I don't agree with everything that any given individual says.  The thing that makes Rush "special" is that he is a conscious charlatan who, for his own personal gain, knowingly deceives the American public.  You ask me to point out lies from his show?  Better for me to cite the instances where he is candid and truthful as it would be a much shorter list.

I didn't know we were discussing Clinton, but since you threw that in...I think you will notice in a previous post I referred to Clinton as a draft dodger.  He is also a philanderer and guilty of perjury, among other things.  So no free passes for Clinton from me, despite your dishonest attempt to classify me as a liberal friend of Bill.  Still, if you were to ask who has done more harm to the US, Clinton or Bush, well...

I'm not sure why you threw in the paragraph about global warming, as all I said was that I wasn't pushing the panic button, but that I thought it was a serious topic about which serious discussion needs to be had.  However, if you think the environment is just fine the way it is, I'd suggest traveling to a few major cities, and doing some reading about CFC/ozone related matters for starters.

By the way, your last paragraph was quite humorous, unintentionally I'm sure.  Yesterday I spoke of political dissent, taxation with illusory representation, and the Constitution of the United States of America.  I thought THOSE were the principles on which this country was founded.

As far as you being done with this topic, promises promises.  I don't think anyone here would blame you if you didn't post anything further ;).  Anyway, if you ever feel like actually addressing my post from yesterday afternoon, just draft something up.  If you're not tired of setting, I'm not tired of spiking.

Here's the sad part of all this: Dandy's seminal post about reasons to hate Bush is totally lost on those who really need to re-read it carefully. Instead, we go back to debating a two-bit conservative blabbermouth no more legitimate or illegitimate than two-bit liberal blabbermouths, all of whom make a dishonest living polarizing America with clever "parodies" so we laugh our asses off and forget that the parodied problems exist.
Meanwhile, Mr. Bush and his cabal of co-conspirators, deliberately or indifferently, continue to demean, cheapen and erode our democracy. What must our "36 alliied countries" fighting with us in Iraq think?

First, please explain to me why providing meaningful access to health care for all our citizens is so evil?

Second, you don't have to be Iranian to hate President Bush, not when there are so many other reasons to find him reprehensible.

It's not the government's job to provide health care to everyone. And in the countries where it's been implemented, it's been disastrous. Want to see the problems with socialized medicine? Check out the info on this website:
http://www.angelfire.com/pa/sergeman/issues/healthcare/socialized.html

And of course you don't have to be Iranian to hate Bush, but I fail to see how patriotic Americans can "hate" Bush or consider him reprehensible . . .

If it's because of the war in Iraq, puh-lease! I suppose we were supposed to sit back and do nothing after 9-11. May I quote from a recent column by Victor Hanson in The Modesto Bee:

"The truth is that, thanks to Bush, bin Laden's original bases in Afghanistan are lost. His al-Qaida followers in Iraq are being systematically decimated -- with the help of Sunni tribesmen repulsed by jihadist atrocities. A recent poll from the Pew Research Center revealed a precipitous drop in support among Middle Easterners for the tactics of suicide bombing, and a growing unpopularity for bin Laden himself."

Bush is not perfect, but he's trying to head off the al-Qaida threat on foreign soil . . .or would you rather that we sit back and do nothing and just wait for them to attack us again?

You seriously need to get off your Rush fix and hunt around different sources for news if you don't trust TV news that's telling you Bin Laden's base has grown. There is unrest in the streets of Pakistan. The country is unstable. If someone gets to Mussharif, there will be bedlam. Pakistan has nuclear power. Afghanistan is where we should have been fighting if we were in earnest. A clear indicator that Bush and Cheney are anything but earnest  The cowboy way Bush did it was the biggest fiasco. Announcing you're going to attack someone is stupid. Bin Laden's crew fought with the Russians for years in that Afghan terrain. The Russians went home with their tail between their legs and broke. As far as fighting them on their turf? What?-- there is a country called "Terrorism" somewhere? Terrorism doesn't have turf. Notice the bomb attacks in Europe? We're so busy fighting in Iraq, native European radicals are turning to Islam. How are we going to filter regular Europeans coming across our borders next? They look like us yet could be terrorists. Our borders are wide open for Pete's sake.  We've got to let those illegal aliens leak in to work way below the pay scale of average America you know.  Democrats are taking a beating for wanting to let them stay. Republicans should take responsibility for letting them continue to leak in.

Rush Limbaugh is NOT a serious political commentator. He is purely an entertainer that panders to the lowest common denominator.

Stir the pot, pick at the scab, call names, and go to commercial.

Coffee.Mom
You're wasting you time trying to reason with these folks.  Clearly from their posts you can tell they never listen to Rush. They call him a liar. But you'll notice, not a single one of these people offered even a single example, or any evidence whatsoever.  Just mindless partisan hate.

Dandy Richardville offered a very well covered, extensive report of her listening ability to discern twisted commentary from Rush right after she heard the very same news report he reported about.
