Fair Parade Photos
« on: July 27, 2008, 07:19:34 PM »

I took some photos while walking the parade today.  Placed them here because of the political signs.

This is a little different view, instead of someone from the sidelines taking the photos, it was someone walking in the parade.
I know someone mentioned the parade was boring, but just think how great a place like Monroe County really is.  People line the streets on a hot day to watch men, women, and children march with signs, batons, and bands.  All while trying to dodge those little brown gifts left by the horses.

Thanks.

Nice pictures.

The not having a float or riding in a car says a lot. I'll try and emphasize the good.

1.) With gas as high as it is, it would have been expensive to ride anything more than a scooter around, which would show a fiscal irresponsibility.

2.) Walking the entire parade length shows that you are at least in good enough shape to walk the entire length. ;)

3.) Allows to get to meet the people, shake their hands, and get photo ops. All things any candidate should do.

John Dingell wasnt able to do much schmoozing.  Talked to him but he wasn't much for conversation.   Maybe because I was walking in support of the opposite party...

I think you are wrong about that.  I am a republican and I have had a good relationship with Congressman Dingell for the past few years.  As far as I am concerned; at 80 some years old Congressman Dingell does not need to schmooz anyone.  Leave that to all the young wannabees that wished they could have the political career that Dingell has had.

Saw John Manor walking in the parade is he running for something, or just helping?  Richardville had a nice crowd - gave my kid a coloring book and candy...Angerer had a big group too, didn't see any Ebli supporters...was she there? ???

You know, that is one of the reasons my work decided not to be in the parade. The letter we got stated boldly no handouts of candy or anything or you will be pulled from the parade.  We were going to do ballons and bottled water.

It would have been SO much more fun to do water filled balloons.

Nice pictures.  Didn't make it to the parade, but it looks like a lot of people did.

I totally agree with that!!  ;D

I was just wondering if the politicians got the same letter, and if they did, why they were not pulled from the parade..........hmmmmmmm
