RE: MonroeTalks : Management Change, Terms of Service and Moderation

Dear Monroe Evening News (MEN) Management :

I believe it is important that the MEN address and communicate the
paper's position and potential future plans for it's community forum,
MonroeTalks, with respect to :  Management Change, Terms of Service
and Moderation.

These three areas are of a significant interest and concern to the
MonroeTalks'  increasing participant user base.

I realize that the transition due to Dan Shaw's recent departure from
the MEN may still be in in its initial stages and that the decisions
and logistics regarding MonroeTalks may still be in process.

I simply  request, in an effort to foster open communication dialogue,
that once MEN has arrived at their decisions on these matters, to
post them on MonroeTalks.

Note, to serve as a focal point for this communication,  I  have
started the following thread, MEN / MonroeTalks : Management  Change,
Terms of Service and Moderation in The Getting Started and Site News
Board and placed a copy of this email.

Thank you for your consideration and time.

Respectfully,

Kazimer

I’d still like an indicator of some sort that tells everyone how many active identities are linked to each other.

And the cherry on top is if those identities could be listed in their profiles.

That would be one way of keeping the honest people honest.

The practice of allowing anyone to make up a temporary name just to leave comments on the news stories is like trusting a zero feedback seller on eBay…..not very wise.

Anonymity could still be maintained while allowing a means to discern the validity of the comments.

Fry you've gotta flip this record over...you're wearing this side out !

Feeling guilty?

Have you been trolling under another member name?

Perhaps you only play nice under the slugger name because your identity has been compromised by the gatherings so you let it all hang out using another name.

You’ve objected each time I’ve introduced the subject…..the evidence suggests my suspicions are correct.  ;)

Sorry Fry, I'll swear on my life AND my family's that I've posted ONLY under utility slug.   Never used a second name.  Ever.

There are really only a handful of posters who know me - and they're trustworthy.   Besides I'm no different 'unmasked' than I am on MT.

I'm just yankin your chain... ;D

Yeah, they are just finding random people to play for them now, in an attempt to win games.

I'd like to see a check box on the side so you can check off individual posts you don't want to read instead of the top row thing that says Mark ALL messages as read.  (if there is a place like this, someone let me know)  ???

What happened to Dan?

He took over the Agora from Mark Bergmoser at MCCC.

I had to Google it to find out what it was but thanks for the info.

Oh sorry, guess I shouldn't assume things. The Agora is the student newspaper at the community college.
