Political commentary.
« on: September 03, 2008, 11:59:30 PM »

It's official now, the republicans have embraced White Supremacy. Just watch as John McCain shakes the hand and welcomes the new VP's bastard's father to the clan..ooops I mean group. And they support being a traitor and trying to get your state succeeded from the USA as the VP AND her husband both joined that party. The Repubs are trying to backtrack and say it was only her husband but ooops again! It was not only found on the video of the leader of the traitorous party who clearly states she is a member but the card she and her husband signed.
So now you can not only vote for more HUGE tax breaks for the filthy rich, more tax money going to the wealthiest companies, more wars against the wrong nations, more making Iran a superpower,(and good thing they caught Bin Laden, wait they let him go) more making the US universally hated in the world and losing all of our respect AND the greatest loss of personal rights in the shortest period of time in history..you can vote for the above too.
Would tell you all the other perks of voting for the most crooked party in this fine nations history but don't want this post to long, after all Republicans aren't very educated and lose concentration quickly, it's one of the things that allows them to believe falsehoods without ever bothering to check for themselves.

This seems worth digging into a bit. The Alaska Independence Party, which was  formed with the goal of seceding from the union and establishing Alaska as an independent state, says that Palin addressed their 2008 convention.

Does John McCain's possible mental issues worry you?
I recall in 1992 Ross Perot's running mate Vice Admiral James Stockdale was crucified because he had mental issues from being a POW. Although Perot at one point in June/July of 1992 had 39% of public support, pundits believe it was his running mate's status of POW and possible mental instability that cost Perot the election.

McCain has a very similar past and has shown these mentalities on the Senate floor, and it is no secret that the US Navy believes McCain is unhinged and is a serious liability.

Doesn't this possibility worry you about McCain becoming Commander in Chief?

Why or why not?

All you have to do is do a google search for McCain - Mental instability and US Navy liability.

There is enough material to keep you reading overnight

Housegate is part of a larger problem with McCain. There have been several slips like this, which we have simply assumed is the usual Republican lying that we've all come to expect. For example, when McCain stated that had he been president he wouldn't have appointed several Supreme Court justices that he actually VOTED to CONFIRM. Many of us thought that this was a deliberate attempt to fabricate and distort his own record... but it certainly follows his pattern of mental lapses.

The thought of this man in the white house, when we don't even know if he's medically sane or not, is extremely frightening.

It didn't take a lot of digging to come to the conclusion that although John McCain is liked by the public in general. Those who have worked with him or know him personally generally do not like him. And the reason is because in addition to his knee jerk temper, he's basically a very unpleasant man. Reports of writing scathing letters to fellow senators mocking them are referred to as "McCain notes" and are well known. Former Rep. John LeBoutillier, a New York Republican said "People who disagree with him get the 'f*** you."
In McCain's home state of Arizona it's the same story. The voters have a generally good opinion of the man, but those who know him well do not. Despite endorsing McCain in all 5 of his bids for public office, the largest newspaper in his home state, The Arizona Republic published a front page article during the 2000 election saying it wanted to warn the rest of the nation about McCain's "volcanic" temper. Among the recipients of McCain's flash temper have been Republican Gov. Jane Hull, former Republican Gov. Rose Mofford and former Democratic Mayor Paul Johnson of Phoenix. Johnson said of McCain's temper, "His volatility borders in the area of being unstable," Johnson also said "Before I let this guy put his finger on the button, I would have to give considerable pause."
John McCain claims to be the most qualified to be commander in chief. But many well known military leaders are very skeptical about a McCain presidency. Retired Maj. Gen. Paul Eaton who from 2003 to 2004 was in charge of training Iraqi security forces and a Clinton supporter said "I like McCain, I respect McCain. But I am a little worried by his knee-jerk response factor." "I studied leadership for a long time during 32 years in the military," and "It is all about character. Who can motivate willing followers? Who has the vision? Who can inspire people? I have tremendous respect for John McCain, but I would not follow him" are the words of retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Scott Gration, a one-time Republican who is supporting Obama.

We're at war my fellow Americans and we can ill afford to have a president who could even be suspected of being mentally unstable. Our country posses the power to wipe out mankind and that is NOT something we need to be taking chances with. I understand that from a distance it's hard not to like the guy. Especially considering his military service and the hell he went through. But were not talking about awarding a meritorious medal. This is the most powerful office in the world and if there is the slightest reason to believe any candidate is mentally unstable, they must be kept out of office.

For those in rose colored-chaps who would like to paint a picture of a charitable Mrs. McCain, there's another side to the story. Sure, she started a charitable organization to provide medication to people overseas and then she started syphoning off the pain meds to herself. When she was using so much, she forced a doctor who worked for the organization to write prescriptions for herself and then in the names of other employees and she filled those prescriptions.

The doctor lost his medical license.
Cindy got 3 months probation. She had some powerful connections.

Read and learn.

McCain Attempted Suicide Twice, But Won't Release His Mental Health Records During This Campaign
Posted by Paul Hooson
Published: Aug 5, 08 04:46 PM
The John McCain Campaign is hoping to ride the shallow message of don't vote for Barack Obama because he's young and popular all the way to the White House.

But this inch deep and very shallow campaign is also concealing some huge vulnerabilities of John McCain. Buried in the 1500 pages of medical records released by the McCain Campaign is information that McCain attempted suicide twice, yet his campaign won't release his full mental health records to the public. This is a serious issue that the McCain Campaign hopes to skirt; his full mental health records after years of physical and psychological abuse by his North Vietnamese captors and whether McCain is currently receiving any psychiatric care or medications.

If you want to make John McCain go ballistic, just suggest to him that his campaign should release his full mental health as well as medical records. McCain has no problem releasing his medical records, which did show that he is cancer survivor with a current clean bill of health and very healthy for his age. But when it comes to McCain's mental health records, this becomes a closely guarded secret of the McCain Campaign, and likely for very good reason. There is likely some significant issues to hide from the public here.

The fact of the matter is that one out of every eight servicemen returning from Iraq are experiencing serious mental health problems such Post-Traumatic Stress Syndrome, and examples of depression, alcohol, drug abuse or suicide are high among returning vets suffering from this other serious mental health disorders.

However, virtually none of these servicemen were captured by the enemy or tortured like John McCain was for five years at the hands of his North Vietnamese captors. The North Vietnamese often received instruction from Soviet KGB or military intelligence officers in techniques of brainwashing, psychological abuse and other methods to break down a soldier and gain false confessions out of them.

It is highly likely that anyone who has suffered such serious abuse has lifelong mental health problems and likely has received treatment for depression or other serious mental health disorders which could include medication, hospitalization or even electro-shock therapy. It is no wonder that the McCain Campaign wishes to conceal the extent to which John McCain received mental health services, or whether he is still undergoing mental health services or is on any mental health medications.

Even anti-depressants can have significant side effects and are controversial because some people have done very disturbed acts under the influence of them. In Oregon, a 12 year old boy who was put on antidepressants killed his parents and shot up his school, killing two students and wounding many more. The fact of the matter is that mental health medications can have significant side effects that cloud judgment or can lead to erratic and bizarre behavior.

John McCain's long history of sudden anger and outrageous outbursts both in the Senate as well as with reporters calls into question whether McCain is still suffering from significant mental health problems as a result of his captivity or whether he is currently under psychiatric care or medications.

The fact of the matter is that good judgment is the most important trait needed in a president, and if John McCain has a history of mental health disorders as a result of his abusive treatment as a POW or is currently under mental health treatment, then his ability to command the largest military in the world, command the largest nuclear arsenal in the world, or make other vital life or death decisions could be greatly clouded. The voting public has a right to know this information.

You know that the McCain Campaign will attempt to run out the clock on the 2008 campaign and ignore any request for his mental health records from reporters or the public. But this information is vitally important.

If John McCain has any mental disorders or is under current psychiatric care or medications should be an important and valid issue in this important election. McCain claims that all of his trauma as a POW had left by 1977, yet the fact that he twice attempted suicide according to the 1500 pages of medical reports from his doctors released to the public so far indicates some history of mental health problems that the McCain Campaign should be upfront

Latest Gallup Poll: Obama's support firms up

America's "swing" voters are turning to support Barack Obama at a faster clip than to John McCain, according to the latest Gallup Poll. Overall, Obama still leads McCain by a 49-43 margin.

But the big news is that support for the Democratic nominee is firming up.

Gallup says the registered voters saying they "are certain to vote for Obama" went up 6 percentage points -- from 36 percent before the Democratic convention to 42 percent after it.

McCain's "certain" vote has moved up, too, but by only 3 percentage points -- from 34 percent to 37 percent. The stunning selection of national police novice Sarah Palin was figured into that equation.

One caveat: The GOP convention doesn't end until Thursday night, when McCain will give his acceptance speech, one much less-hyped than the one given by Obama at Invesco Field last week.

Still, McCain could see bump upward in his figures in the coming day or two.

I guess I don't understand why all these Craigslist blogs are mucking up, I mean bogging down, I mean being incorporated into MT and now MT THREADS are even being titled after Craigslist.

Not only do we get the links, but the ENTIRE TEXT cut and pasted into MT as well, paragraph after paragraph after paragraph.

I would think that just STAYING in the Craigslist site would make much better sense.

I enjoy some of the things from Craigslist. Let's face it, there are only a few of us posting on here, and we pretty much know where everyone stands on issues. It's refreshing to hear other perspectives. They can spark a whole new conversation that we couldn't do ourselves. Perhaps not every time, but it's worth the "risk" of reposting the comments here.

Don't like it? Don't read it. The thread title is a dead giveaway!

Craig'sList is the perfect place to get the most accurate information possible. Oh wait....nevermind.....that's the same place I saw people getting jilted for NFC playoff tickets last year at $800 a pop only to be turned away at the gates.

I'd find a different source! ;)
