Given recent disputes and requests for a feature like this, I've implemented an Ignore User feature. The content of posts and messages by users on your Ignore list will not be displayed.

To add or remove users to your ignore list, simply use the link next to each post (Ignore/Unignore) or, to manage your whole list, click Profile, then "Ignore user options" on the left menu, and add usernames (one per line) to your list.

How about adding an Ignore Status Tally on the profile page so one can see how many people have selected to ignore the individual.
Is this possible?
No need to show user names, just the tally.
What do you think?

why on earth would anyone want to use this??

you ignore someone then read a thread and see others talk and then you wonder what it is they are talking about.

sorta like leaving yourself out in the cold!

but thats just my opinion.

The feature doesn’t make sense.

A person could be slandered without knowing and then by not responding, someone would take note that the allegation wasn’t denied

If say I’m on the ignore list and someone quotes what I said, can the person with blinders on see my comments?

I agree...It's just a tool for those that have not the desire to hear the other side of an opinion "from a select few".

There are many people on this forum I disagree with but I would never shut them out because I didn't like what they said...I thought that was the whole point of posting...

I could see where this would help if someone came in here and started spamming the posts with advertisements, but so far I haven't seen that happen, thankfully...

If I’m not mistaken, everyone can be tracked via the IP address that is visible to the host of this site so in truth, we are not so anonymous.

We live in a litigious society so we should only speak the truth but the point I tried to make earlier is that I would want to know if someone uttered something that needed to be corrected.
