If I’m not mistaken, everyone can be tracked via the IP address that is visible to the host of this site so in truth, we are not so anonymous.

My Charter cable IP address stays the same for months at a time....   until they do something to change it..

I "assume" that it is similar for all cable connectons, but I really don't know.

Dial-up connections will get a new IP address everytime the user dials in...  don't know if the provider can tell who is connected from that address at any given time.

No idea how it works for DSL...  have never had that.

Well plenty of people have been tracked by their IP address like when people get sued for downloading music, those Dateline predators, and those folks charged with downloading porn.

So it must be possible, unless they aren’t nabbing those folks with a dial-up.

Why would someone want to use an ignore user feature on a forum like this? I think we are all pretty tame in comparison to some of the forums I have visited. Why bother posting if you want to close your eyes to others opinions. Even I get bored listening to myself

John added the feature that shows how many users are ignoring you (just discovered it).
However, I am a bit disapointed....one, only one person is ignoring me.
I guess I am just not trying hard enough.

I have two that have their blinders on so they won’t see the content of my posts but they can see that I’ve posted something so I’ll bet they’ll click the “Unignore” just long enough to sneak a peek.

"Unignore" sure looks wrong but that’s how they spelled it.

I just found that a user can also edit their profile to ignore unwanted PMs from blacklisted posters.

I'm down to one from an all time high of two. But I found out that my smart-*** ex-husband created an ID and selected to ignore me just 'cuz he knew it would bug me!! He thought it was hilarious when I busted him!! (Nice guy, huh?! LOL!!!)
