Yeah, if he somehow managed to win the Republican nomination i'd vote for him in a heartbeat. Sadly the media seems intent on ignoring him completely, even going to the lengths of cutting him out of debate promotional shots and laughing at his statements.

It'd be nice if he ran on a third party ticket.

He can't. There are no viable third parties. He tried in 1988 and could not get on the ballot.
Write in campaigns barely work because they require people write!

Besides, what Dr. No's campaign is about fits with the direction the Republican Party said it wanted to go, back to it's roots. Based on the individual rights of the Constitution. That's why the Republicans can't stand him!!!

As I've said before, he is the ONLY one that CAN run on his record, and not blink.

Look at his conrtributors, it's a good indication who supoports him.

I’ve reserved comment because so many people here are leaning his way but I have noticed a few things.

Ron Paul side will offer tax credits to emergency room physicians because they are required to provide care regardless of a person’s ability to pay. There’s a chance they would return to financial shake downs and be refused treatment with Ron Paul’s blessing.

He also wants to allow churches the freedom to exercise their freedom of speech in the political arena so I hope they start paying taxes as well.
No pay, no say is the American way (The church shouldn’t be allowed to have it both ways)

Ron wants to get rid of the income tax….. Now that’s funny! (Throwing out the baby with the bath water) I’ve seen nothing proposed to replace that lost income much like getting rid of that business tax in Lansing…… That idea didn’t work very well there either.

This guy can propose many solutions that will strike a chord with many people but unless things are thought through, those campaign promises will never be fulfilled because they’re unworkable.

Ron Paul wants to get rid of the income tax because he also wants to get rid of 80% of the federal government.

I like the phenomena of Ron Paul.  He's good at getting people to talk about some pretty core issues that get lost with the money and horse race quality of campaigns.

But the reality is that you either need 60 votes in the Senate or compromise with other parties to get much of anything important done.

That's what the Founders wanted - gridlock.  It's the beauty of checks and balances.

So, it's a bit disingenuous for Ron Paul to spout off about his libertarian principles when there is pretty much zero chance that any of that will be enacted, even in the extremely unlikely event that he gets elected.

What will Ron Paul do to compromise with a Republican or Democrat Party Congress?

That sounds like a great idea.
Let us not forget to include the great State of Michigan.

Executive Orders work two ways! They have been used to steal our freedoms and they can be used to return them also. This is why the establisment is, shall I say, not very fond of Dr. Paul. He understands mechanisms the government has used to enslave the masses by heavy taxation, regulation and coercion. It only took FDRs' "one hundred days" along with the Federal Reserve Act to start this mess. I believe Dr. Paul could start our return to real freedom if he were elected. 8)

Getting pastthe "entitlement" mentality is one of the biggest hurdles. 80+ years of New Deal social programing isn't easily overcome.

We must break the cycle of serfdom in this nation. But, most people still think this is a free nation.

Is it, really?

Everyone who says "I'd vote for him.... but he doesn't have a chance!" needs to get out of that mentality and just get out the vote for him in the Republican primary.  Ron Paul is the most popular Republican candidate after the so-called "front runners" and he is a stone's throw away from being a real contender.  The most recent national Gallup poll even placed him ahead of Mitt Romney.  The media doesn't like to address him as a serious candidate, so it's all up to ordinary people to carry him.  If you like what he stands for, don't be afraid to support him!

That's the truth.

Give me a break!  Paul is a second tier candidate who will be out of the race after the first few primaries.

Don't be too sure... while the media has been ignoring him, he's been showing VERY strongly at straw polls. Top 3 placings in most of them.
