And we have paid property tax for a total of 43 years, all in Monroe. I have 2 children & they certainly didn't attend school all that time. Each have owned homes & paid property tax as well. My daughter ended up in her mobile home after a divorce and only one of the 3 children is attending public school. And my son & his wife sent their 2 sons to private school, just as you did, until high school - they paid property tax just the same during that time, just as you did. Along with, of course, the state taxes.
You may be right about mobile home residents not paying their fair share - I really don't have the figures to debate that one way or the other. All I know is that a park usually charges at least $300 or so for each home per month - therefore, a park with 200-300 mobile homes is taking in a lot of money. I simply do not know how the park itself is taxed.
We will have to disagree, because I still feel, for our personal situation, that taxes are certainly being paid, whether our daughter pays or we pay.
