What exactly is Homophobia?
« on: September 25, 2008, 02:38:37 PM »

Homo-phobia.

This site says you may not promote homophobia, but what exactly is homophobia?

Is homophobia just stating the Biblical views on homosexuality? Is it a true fear of homosexuals to say, "The Bible states homosexuality is sin, and those who partake in such shall perish"?

Not hardly.

According to the reasoning of the New Administration, not even a Pastor could state that homosexuality is sin in a reasonable and civil way, for then hate, contempt, and fear would be read into that post and it would be deleted.

But I can see why a post that said, "GOD HATES FAGS!" or "FUDGE PACKING FAGGOTS WILL FRY IN HELL!" would be deleted as those are clearly posted in a spirit of hate, but is it really hateful and homophobic to state your religious beliefs about homosexuality in a reasonable way?

If you just want to name call and insult, then please don't post in this thread. Let's be reasonable.

Why would I hold to something or profess it if I thought it was a maybe? I just state simply and clearly what I am convinced to be true, which people call beliefs. Some say homosexuality is fine and state why, and I state why I disagree with that, but now this is unacceptable when it was never a problem before?

And yes, I have saved everything as evidence in my case, a case in which I am discussing even now.

I think it's wrong to say everything said in disagreement with homosexuality is homophobia. That's simply not true. Screaming in hate, "FAGGOTS WILL FRY!" Is hate, yes. But to state clearly that you believe it to be wrong, as it opposes the order of God, is no wrong. And to read one's true and sincere beliefs as being hateful is not right or accurate.

But should my heart and motivations be judged on how others interpret them? That too would be an injustice.

Again, just because you believe something doesn't make it true.

But you *don't* just say you disagree with it. If you did, that would be fine. What you say is that homosexuals ARE in fact immoral, sinful, an abomination, bad parents, evil, will rot in hell, etc. That is OFFENSIVE to most people. Can't you understand that??

It is quite possible to be stubborn, ignorant and just plain wrong..

That doesn't give you the right to post your beliefs as if they were facts.

well, yes the TOS says you cant promote Homophobia, so you saying its an abomination is promoting homophobia. cut and dry. If you said  "I believe its an abomination", it would your beliefs and maybe that would be okay by the administration. But your saying "Homosexuality is an abomination according to God, and therefore is."

Jesus, if you dont get it by now, you never will.

and you shouldn't be the one asking about why something is unacceptable now when you've been pushing for more moderation and a "less gray" TOS.

17   -   Your score rates you as "high-grade non-homophobic."
In his 1996 study of 64 white, male college students, Dr. Henry Adams classed 29 participants as "non-homophobic." Their mean score was 30.48, however, placing most of the men outside of this sub-group. Dr. Adams reported that he had difficulty finding heterosexual men whose scores ranked them as high-grade non-homophobic

I really said people were gonna rot in Hell? Again, because you don't like me you exaggerate what I say into being terrible and even criminalistic.

Like the one time I said God helped me to do the right thing, and then you said I had all the red flags and asked if I was a gun owner. And when I asked why you said that, you simply said, "Because I don't like you. We have different views."

Yeah, you love to exaggerate.
