Testing water lines?
« on: October 02, 2008, 05:47:13 PM »

Saw the city doing something with the water lines (assumed it was water lines) for a couple blocks along noble today...came home to find that my street was marked up with blue paint and blue flags saying 'water line' ...... does anybody know if they are just testing them for leaks or pressure or what?

couldn't find any info on this on the cities website either  :(

That would indicate the location of the lines. That usually indicates there will be excavation in the area.

does the city post notices of the work schedule (if any) on these projects anywhere?

I should probably just call city hall and ask, eh?

I don't live in the city, so I'm not sure.  But they only mark them for a reason. Anybody else know?

they usually don't notify neighborhoods unless it will involve the road being completely closed.  actually, it may not even be the city doing the work.  could be a contractor.

Yeah, as Shep indicated, the flags show the location of the water lines.   Evidently someone has called in a MissDig order for all utilities to locate their facilities.

Most likely someone will be digging in the area soon.
