I think Pudge does a good job.  He is acurate and has a good sense of knowing runners.  His bat struggles, but then gets into a hot roll.  I think he adds alot to the team.  Every one says he's always the first out to help young players with advice and tips.

Inge does good when he is doing good, but yes he has struggled with the bat.  Playing third though I will have to say Inge has made some great plays and is very athletic at that position.  Carlos G while good, is not as limber as Inge is and is not quit as quick on the feet.  Inge has a great arm, and Guillen while accurate most times I feel is a bit weaker for long throw.

Jones - scares me!  He pitches for contact for the most part and I have to look away.  I'd love to see a strike thrower as closer, but wouldn't every team and fan.

My Tiger is Polanco!  Such an alert player.  And to think how many games played with no errors, and he is 3rd over all in batting average this year - he's my guy!

With injuries to the piching crew this year Tigers have had to fight hard.  But all teams have been hit with injuries.  If Tigers did not have the injuries they have dealt with since the All-Star break - Cleveland would not be sitting so pretty in this fight.  Cleveland has played good ball -  but has also gotten just plain old lucky with other teams blowing the lead and win on several occasions.

Tigers will be back.  I am still praying for the miracle this season.  This has been a great couple of years.  The park will be sold out again next year, and Tigers will give us another great year.

I love talking Tigers - and look forward to talking Red Wings!

My friend Jeff seems to have touched a nerve with his recent column about Jim Leyland. I heard it is posted on the Detroit Free Press web site and I heard it mentioned on WDFN.
Here is a link to it:

I agree with most of what Jeff wrote.  I still say that Leyland takes the starting pitcher out too stinking early when he is having a good game.  How many times did we pull our starter with the lead while the other team left theirs in, and went on to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory?
