No you were not right, and it is a pretty ignorant thing to just assume things about people you have never met.

I am college educated, so even though I have never met you in person, I have delt with you before.

You are nothing more than one of the "enlightened college kids" I went to school with, you are just one in a long wave of NEA indoctrinated reincarnates.  I don't have to shake your hand to meet you, I have known you for years.

My thoughts on this are kind of rambling...

As a Republican, he voted many times with his Democratic colleagues. So, the Dems don't pick-up a net, new vote on many issues.

As a Democrat, he will likely vote with his Republican colleagues on some issues (as he he has done in the past) so the Republicans don't gain a net, new vote.

It looks like the status quo ante is maintained and all this is really much to do about nothing...

Unless you factor in the potential loss of the seat held by Dem Chris Dodd....

In both Specter and Dodd's seat, massive money from outside the state is flowing in to bolster campaign funding.

It seems the Founders were correct when they decided to have Senators appointed (to represent the state) and not let outside influences shape the outcome of local representation... amendment repeal, anyone?

17th, ratified 1913

Your thoughts are rambling down the right road for sure!

Passage of the 17th effectively ended representation of the sovereign "States" and ended our Republic, creating a "Democracy".
Now the government is created by the whim of the majority.

Repeal of the 17th is as unlikely as repeal of the 16th! The owners have consolidated their power.
On the up side, we are only one or two votes away from a Constitutional Convention which will finally put our old, unused version of the Constitution to rest and can usher in the NAU.

I am a lot of things, however I am not one of the 'people' you went to school with.

jsb--I'm "with" you.  I am sure I went to school many years previous to you, but I went to school with many "CK"s, too.  "He" has been there for a long time and will no doubt continue to hang around taking in the indoctrination for years to come.  Some of us become educated, others just go to school for a long time.

Actually you are just going to have to trust me on this when I say..... Yes, yes you are.

No trust me, I am nothing like the people you speak of. I do however find it funny that just because you can't dispute things I say you claim I'm an extremist.

I have disputed you already in at least two other threads already and you just tucked tail and ran.  Care to show me yet where Bush tried to legislate in the "fairness doctrine" as you claim?

Now I'll give you a third instance where I give you an opportunity.  Please cite where I called you an extremeist.

The more you post, the more you prove my point.

As I said earlier. I will defend my points with proof, when you and the others around here do the same. Everytime I ask anyone to give proof of something they just tell me to look it up, so again I tell you to take your own advice.

You are running in circles around a baseless claim.  I have never asked you to look anything up so my advice to you is this, when you are beat either admit it or stop posting about it.

I have put three instances now before you where you have made claims, one about Bush trying to legislate in the fairness doctrine and two personally about me.

NONE OF THE 3 WERE FACTUAL and you know it!

And if you could show me a statement that I made as "facts" that were baseless and unsubstantiated I'd be willing to entertain your premise.

Facts are stated like this:  "You did this"  "You said this", "Bush tried this".

Opinions are stated like: "I think this", "That seems like", "Bush should have this".

My opinion is, you should back up your "facts".

We can only hope he takes McCain with him!

Why? McCain has been a staunch conservative for the past couple of years now.

Yep, voting to bailout the Wall St. bankers is the sure sign of a staunch conservative!
